Just recently discovered that I must have avoidant personality disorder. I've recently retired and when I've worked I was firstly in nursing and then in teaching. Aren't these absolutely fabulous jobs for a person with APD !!!!? No wonder Life was a misery. + Also trying to work in a modern office. Teamworking. Bonding. What a load of XXXXX. Impossible for me to cope with.
Obviously someone with APD has no chance with any ...

3. call a friend, your therapist or a crisis line

4. try not be be alone (visit a friend, go shopping, etc.)

5. take a hot bath, but not to hot to burn you

6. listen to music, turn it up and sing your heart out

The meds don't work. I conserve all my energy for work, I can't seem to do anything but sit and worry. I do however find comfort in my music, thank god my wife loves music too.
