However, many people do believe that artists are more likely than others to be mentally ill. Many well-known artists, writers and musicians had a history of mental illness, in some cases leading to suicide.

Oh the addiction of cutting... if I wasn't so afraid of scaring other people, I'd cut all the time. I've probably got 50-100 scars on my upper arms from the first time I was cutting, back in high school.

I don't cut in quite the quantity anymore, but they are much deeper. And now I almost always cut on my wrists. I think constantly about death or suicide. I've had some really scary looking cuts ...
