Schizoid personality and IQ

About 2 decades ago, when I was a student, a management professor once mentioned Mensa in these words:

“You’ve probably heard about Mensa. It’s an association of smart people who are unhappy because they can’t communicate with anyone”. :(

I said to myself: “Wait a minute, that’s how I am. Is it possible that I do have a high IQ and my communication problems are caused by ...

Diet/Gen. Health guidelines to help with mental disorders?

So I'll be honest, I'll probably be hell-bent on this eating healthy thing for a week or maybe even two, then it'll fade out; much like every other idea/interest I have. But, I'm gonna start on it anyway.

In no way do I think a specific diet can be a cure-all for mental health issues. But I do believe it can work for or against a person in some form or another.

Like many people, ...

Codependency

I've recently come to realize that I am very co-dependent on my boyfriend (though I would never admit that to him). Every Sunday I spend hanging out with my mom, and my boyfriend stays home. I always find myself rushing home as soon as I can to make sure that he is ok. He gets bored easily and starts to get mad at the world when he is bored, no one likes him, it was ...

Stealing from my family

I am 43 and would like to know where in Scotland that I could get help with stealing money from my family. It has caused a severe rift between the wife and I and the children are really upset as they do not know what is going on, if I do not get help soon I will take my own life that is how unhappy I am.

Why so critical?

My exN boyfriend used to be soooo critical of me. It got to the point I felt that I could never say the right thing or do the right thing. He would criticize me about my makeup, hair, clothes, the way I closed a potato chip bag, whether I gave him a glass with his soda, how I spoke or things I would say, and he would make fun of my age (I’m quite a ...

Living in Fantasy

Recently I have been doing loads of research into psychological conditions as I have always felt that I am not quite on the same level as most of society. When I began reading about schizoid personality disorder I found that the symptoms fit almost perfectly (ironically I've never felt more a part of a group). The one exception to this is that I keep reading that people with this disorder tend to live in "fantasy". ...

Need Ideas/Suggestion --HOW To Win This Person Back?

Need Ideas/Suggestion --HOW To Win This Person Back? I MESSED UP

I gave him a shock therapy and I generalize him, thinking that his reaction will be the same like the others. I gave him the SUICIDE THREAT and he ran away. Damn I want him back.

He was an obedient person (slave/victim), he told me he didn't care about my personality. He loves me, he will do anything and stay with me. I see ...

for the HPD's - how do you deal with depression?

I don't know if anyone else experiences intense periods of depression, but how do you get yourself out of it? Sometimes I'm just overwhelmed by the things I can't control - but primarily the fact that my ex hates me and I can't do anything about it - there's no way I can make amends. This is exacerbated by the knowledge that I've pretty much ruined my own life by trying to commit suicide - ...
