How to live with an OCPD husband?

I think that my husband has OCPD, is probably also depressed. He refuses to get help, claims I am the one that has a probelm, that i should stop seeing him as wrong and accept him. It's impossible to talk to him, he thinks his demands about rules (the girls have to eat with their mouths closed not making noise when chewing, he's been struggling with our 6 year old about it for several years ...

OCPD?

I stumbled across this site quite by accident and was startled at how closely so many of the things people say about people with ocpd apply to my wife, they could be talking about her! I realize (I think) she has OCPD!

For example,

- most items in the house has its designated spot; certain items "obviously" must be put in the first drawer, others kept in the second etc; she goes ballistic if I ...

OCPD has control of me.

I have visited other forum sites and thus far...I've not received comments on my forum posts, which makes me feel a bit sad as I have finally turned to them in order to find people to relate to. I have OCPD and depression, and while my depression is under control, I feel as if the OCPD has control over me completely. This week has been especially bad, and sometimes I wonder if I will ever ...

How do you experience OCPD?

Is it OCPD if you have a bunch of "hobbies" that you spend the majority of your hours on?
Often one hobby will be dominant for a period of months to years, and then suddenly replaced by a different hobby? When you're not engaged in the activity, you're thinking about it, or about buying new equipment related to that hobby, or reading books about how to do it better?
To the point where if you ...

I wish someone would give me some insight (very long)

I am depressed and I have been isolated from my family. Part of me is guilty about that, but most of me is not. Please let me know what is going on here (dysfunction, abuse, OCPD?). I would love to know!

Monica (oldest of four, 30s)
• Talked me out of things where I might shine (Ivy League education), seems to resent any independence I show
• Insisted that I walk a mile past a ...

Stubborn

I find myself uncontrollably stubborn. And stubborn in more ways than one. I am also stubborn to admit that my stubbornness is problematic in any way. I find it near impossible to ever admit to being wrong.

Does anybody else deal with this?

I'm a 29 year old female living with my boyfriend of 2 year who had moderatly OCPDs. WE have been living together for 2 months now. another OCPD, classic perfectionist, or ocd ...?

I have always been a "perfectionist" but every year, it seems to get worse. I just turned 18 and am in my senior year of high school / sophomore year at college (post-secondary program). I always thought I had a slight form of ocd or something but I have been reading more and more hoping to find some sort of cure for my anxiety and everything seems to point to ocpd. I don't have dozens ...

Peanut Butter Argument

I opened a cupboard in the kitchen and I counted 6 jars of peanut butter. I was curious and noticed 4 of them have been opened.

My thoughts - I have a small house with a small kitchen and can never seem to find extra room to put food or pots away. In my mind an organized kitchen and placing extra/duplicate food items on the top shelf is needed so everything fits.

I was really ...
