I am sorry for going oftopic here and deviating from this threads intended course!

But as I have read a great deal of topics in this particular part of the forum, one thing just striked me. Almost every partner of a narcissist I have observed in here, seem to be an above average kind human. I just wondered if this is indeed the norm? Objectively are the victims of narcissists above average kind?

Reading others' stories about relationships with Narcs I noticed that they often make reference to certain words the Narc used, which are the same mine did, words like: freedom, control, obligation.

In my experience:

"freedom is good" (=my freedom to do whatever I please, regardless of how it makes you feel)

"I don't like control" (=unless I am exercising it)

"I won't do it if it's an obligation" (=I expect you to give when I ...

Why are narcissists so damn masochistic?

Why do we have to make sure everyone hates us? Why, when the arrogance is dropped, do we demean ourselves at every opportunity? Confidence but no self-esteem. Why do we go through periods of convincing ourselves that we will forever be alone and manipulate that fact to provoke sympathy as a new source of supply? How can we be so oxymoronic as to think we are superlative and yet ...

Anyone know anything about him at all?

Is it likely that my ex narc will show her true colours to her new boyfriend? Will this depend on what type of character he is? Will he eventually find out that she's not normal as I did a few months down the line?

Something that puzzles me is that my NPD ex never appeared to feel grief when someone he said he cared about died.
