Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

my psychologist has just started me on cognitive behavioral therapy, and i have still not figured out how to use it. do you use CBT and if you do does it help you with depression and anxiety? right now i am not so sure that this method of treatment is going to work for me because i find it very hard to make my mind believe something else other than something it wants to believe.

Holidays... *Cries* They're Just So Hard

OK, so no one ever said that holidays were the easiest things in the world to get through, but for some reason this year is really hard for me to get through. I'm missing my aunt more than ever this year. I mean, I've been so depressed that I have been going to talk to Mrs. Clark more than I've ever talked to a counselor before. Basically the meds just wipe out her emotion, she got sick of having no emotion one day and didn't take her meds. By the end of the day she had to cut herself to get through the rest of the day, which i neither think is healthy, or good for the psychy. Is there a happy medium? Any other ...

Confused and Unsure

Hello. I'm not entirely sure if I am depressed or not, but I have to find out and I figure this is the best place to go in terms of anonymity. I'll start at the beginning. I've always been painfully shy; I have trouble saying hello to people walking by me on the streets some days. As a result, I've always had at the most two friends, and until high school, they were never true ...
