News of Anti-Depressants

Greetings, I'm a 36 year old man suffering from PSSD and SSRI withdrawal. Last August I regretfully decided to try an antidepressant for the first time. I began by taking 10mg of Citalopram (Celexa) for three months. I then stupidly proceeded to binge on 100mg over a two-day span (40mg on the first day and 60mg on the second.) My psychiatrist tried to get me off Paxil and on to a newer medication called Viibryd. I didn't want to go on it because it is newer in the market and I don't like to try drugs that have not been on the market yet for 5 years. I was wondering if anyone here is on it and if it works, what the side effects are like, etc.?

My psychologist has recommended I meet with a psychiatrist to discuss the possibility of going on an anti-depressant. I am meeting with one next week to learn more about it, but I'm not sure what to ask. Do any of you know engineers or programmers that are on SSRI and don't feel any drop in the performance due to SSRIs ?

Please could someone let me know how long Effexor withdrawal effects can last after tapering off completely?
