Hi
So after struggling with anxiety and depression and also some OCD (mainly thoughts but lil actions too) since I was a kid about 12 I asked my doctor to put me on medication.I'm 19 now btw. Problems with different AD's

Hi

Having had serious mood swings since I was around 14-15 (I'm now 43) I recently (finally) sort help from my GP. So far I've tried Fluoxetine 25mg but had to stop after two days due to palpitations and in one week Sertraline 50mg and Citalopram 10mg (separately) but within hours my mind started racing along with the dreaded anger and irritability so had to stop. My GP has now (yesterday) started me on Mirtazapine ...

Meds for post-child abuse depression?

Does anyone know if anti-depressant medications are prescribed for child abuse-related depression? I have a history of clinical depression, but an on-going, milder issue with depression, most probably caused by a history of abuse. Do psychiatrists prescribe anti-depressants for this kind of depression? If there is one, what is the usual prescription for this?

Venlaflaxine & Mirtazapine: Your experience?

Hi, :D

In March 2013, I was diagnosed with major depression disorder (MDD) and generalised anxiety disorder (GAD). I was then prescribed a combination of Venlaflaxine (Effexor 150mg) and Mirtazapine (Avanza 45mg). From that moment, my situation improved significantly: I no longer suffered from anxiety and I came out of depression. I have also been able to completely stop taking the anti-anxiety drugs (benzodiazepines). The Mirtazapine ...

effexor, pros and cons

My family doctor prescribed effexor after I told him about my ongoing depression. It works quite well for me, but the major side-effect is that sexual activity is completely impossible. I've tried viagra and another sexual enhancer, with no help. So, a couple of months ago, I stopped taking the medication. The libido came right back but so did a couple of other symptoms.

So far I've had no return of the depression, although I'm ...
