Won't Shut Down

Hi, my names Trevor & here's my story/issue. For as long as I can remember I have never been able to just "shut down" like everybody else. Including my own family members who hit the bed & are out instantly it seems. Through out my entire school period I would stay awake (without trying) until about 4 hours before I had to be to class every single night. And now into my adult years (being ...

Any experience with Fisher Wallace Stimulator?

I've been battling primary insomnia for decades. Two overnight sleep studies have determined it's primary. The current consensus is not promising... I've done some serious damage to my brain chemistry with benzos, it seems. Nonetheless, I'm always looking for hope, and there is suddenly a lot of online presence with a ces device called the Fisher Wallace Stimulator...for anxiety and insomnia. Does anyone have experience with this? I am suspicious of the way it's being ...

Advice on my insomnia

Hello all. Wondered whether anybody might be able to give me advice on my current bout of insomnia, which seems to result from a number of factors. By way of background, I had an abusive childhood, as a result of which I tend to internalise anger and dwell on situations that have upset me; this is definitely contributing to my not sleeping, though I think it is actually an effect rather than a cause of ...

Need some reassurance- losing it

Hi there, I'm new here so quick bit of background. I'm a 39 year old female whos had issues with sleep-maintenance insomnia for most of my adult life but it's getting bad.
I now go to bed about 11-11:30 and fall asleep fairly quickly but I sleep very lightly and anything can wake me up. That's when the real issue starts as I can't get back to sleep even though I'm so tired I'm yawning. ...

Hearing Voices Before Going to Bed

So tonight I was trying to go to sleep, but I kept hearing people talking. It sounded very quiet, like they were outside, but there was no one there. I've heard things like this a few times before but never repeatedly. I've also read of other people with this problem who don't suffer from anything else. It is more common for me to hear sounds I would normally hear like my dad using the bathroom ...

No stress no apnea - broken sleep

Been like this for a year now. It was good for about a month... last month... but I was taking benadryl allergy medicine.

It's not sleep hygiene as I tried to have perfect hygiene (no tv, no lights, orange lense glasses all few hours before bedtime, etc) but I still have broken sleep. It's not sleep apnea as I've been tested for a take home sleep study. I used to have sleep paralysis a lot ...

Anyone want to try sleep restriction?

Hi. Here's the story: I have a very bad case of insomnia. Tried Ambien, but woke up after 2 1/2 hours and couldn't get back to sleep. My doctor put me on Xanax (2mg) and it worked like a dream, slept through the night and life was wonderful. After 4 years it wore off. My doctor then put me on Trazodone, which does nothing but make me incredibly anxious and jumpy and weird feeling during ...
