Desire to contact former failed relationship partners

Woke up this morning and began thinking of someone I havent seen in 12 years. Having a strong urge to contact him and I am not sure why.

We never had a serious relationship. It was friendship plus a very intense sexual connection. One of the most intense either of us has had. I dont remember how long it lasted but I ended it because I was frustrated he didnt want to take it to ...

Mundane experiences producing high?

Sensory or social experiences can sometimes produce a high that feels less like an exuberant or ebullient high on life so to speak, and more like the sort of high a street drug might cause. Usually this seems to indicate that I've a need that is not being met and a combination of "high" and impairment of cognitive abilities that can impair judgement seems intended to guide me to the shortest perceived path to meeting ...

Degrees of HPD and Long Term Success

Hi all,

I am a NON whose been living with (and soon to be engaged to) a diagnosed HPD male.

I have a few questions about degrees of Personality Disorders and how the disorder changes, grows or declines with age/stability for those in relationships. Any help would be great.

My man was diagnosed with mild anxiety, mild OCD, and mild bi-polar. He has pretty poor impulse control issues. He was also diagnosed with HPD.

Can ...

HPDs and Control

Do you think HPDs are subtly as obsessed with control as say an NPD?
Maybe not as much as an NPD or ASPD but still obsessed with control/power more than nons?

I say this because I feel my interactions with many NPDs and HPDs end up being a battle.

Do I really have Histrionic Personality Disorder?

I feel like I have Histrionic Personality Disorder. I'm going to make this as short as possible.
When I'm at the center of attention, I don't feel uncomfortable, I'm quite comfortable I would say. But I don't feel I always need to be the center. For example, I have this one class, I don't know anybody there, except a few friends. When I have to answer a question in that class, I usually get nervous. ...

Desperate for some advice.

Hey guys. I really need help. Please, if you have the time in your day to help... please? :(

If you met me, you'd probably think I'm a fairly normal person. I can hold good conversations, connect with others and maintain a fairly comfortable environment when around those who I may or may not know. I always seem happy, probably a little too happy in fact, and ...

FIVE YEARS RELATIONSHIP WITH A HISTRIONIC HOW YOU GET IT?

They all say that it is impossible to have a long-term relationship with a histrionic, but here I read many cases of more than 5 years with one, which for today's standards is really enough. How did they achieve it? They had to give up a lot of boundaries or it really is not that hard and here we are only the ones who do not manage to have a histrionic relationship.

Genuinely Scared Due to HPD

I was diagnosed with HPD a year ago, after being hospitalized for my other previously diagnosed mental illnesses. Ever since, I've been trying to learn about what this means in relation to myself and how I react to other people, but I can't help but just be genuinely terrified for my future because of it.

A lot of the information I find is about how "cluster bs need to be avoided" and how the best ...

Hysterical?

Hi all :D

Anyone have any information about the so-called Hysterical Personality Disorder? I have features of it, or so I've been told, but can't really find much information about it on the internet. It seems to be a milder version of HPD.

Thanks.
