Eternal struggle of HPD

Hello everyone,

Please, help. Is there anyone who has faced same problem? I am an HPD. I am happily married and have a child. My husband is the best of what one can dream of: loving, caring, understanding, etc. From my side my marriage is based on trust, true love (not passion!) and care. But every now and then I get madly in love with other men. And every time it is struggle: I don't ...

Tips for helping cope with HPD

Hi,

I am 99.9% sure I have HPD. I hit all the criteria and it's really the only explanation for the MANY problems I've had. It's taken me a long time to come to grips with my behavior but now that I've faced the truth, I want to learn how to control it. This week, I've consciously avoided speaking about myself, saying statements meant to elicit sympathy and/or approval, or any attention-gaining behavior. It has ...

Question about the forum for those with HPD

A couple of years ago the forum was split leaving this forum for those with HPD, and a more general forum for the Significant Others, or SO's for short (often romantic partners, but could be family and friends too).

The thinking at the time was that the SO's were taking out a lot of anger on those here with HPD, something you didn't deserve. On the down side, after the split, this forum very rapidly ...

How can I get her back?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum so please forgive me if I do anything wrong.

I was dating a girl for 9 months in a very intense relationship. I'm a smart guy, I pick up a lot and I knew that something was staring me in the face virtually the whole time, even though I'm no psychiatrist. I am not without my issues too, which probably helps me identify them in others, I don't ...

Emptiness

This is just a post to express my feelings (if histrionic individuals even have feelings; idk anymore). It’s just a bunch of random “word vomit.”

I tried to tell my therapist I have HPD. I want to work on it, to fix it. She doesn’t believe I have it. I can’t do this on my own but she dismisses the idea that I may have a personality disorder every time I bring it up.

I ...

My Everything.

I'm in a very complicated situation with a girl with HPD traits which seems like it would be impossible for us to solve. I've decided that the best approach in my attempt to leverage this community to try to solve this problem is to use the present central post as a repository for all aspects of the situation, which draws from satellite posts to create a cohesive whole, and use these satellite posts for more ...

Hugs / Cuddly / Cuddling (HPDs)

Hello!

I wonder if some of the persons on this forum who have or have had H traits currently have, or have had in earlier periods of their lives, a genuine special inclination for cuddling or quite on the opposite, a special aversion to cuddling? And if so, which Histrionic subtype(s) would best describe your H behaviours? ("Genuine" being in the sense of it not being used as a means to an end, but as ...

HPDI Defense vs "friend" AsPDI?

I am very much attached to a young HPD girl I haven't seen for 5 years and don't have normal contact with (45-80% HPD Traits, 20-40% BPD Traits, 15-35% NPD Traits). Even though she has very high HPD-type interactions with me (including all types of attempts to pathologically transform any form of normal human interaction and communication with me into "status" / validation / attention) I believe she holds a high esteem of me and ...
