MOST SUSCEPTIBLE MOST VULNERABLE MOST DANGEROUS

Hi Everybody:

Every now and then I have a certain thought about our addiction, and I like to lay it out there in the hopes that it will remind us to be strong and resolute about not gambling. Here's one for today:

I'm not a psychologist, but it seems to me that humans tend to forget the negativity and painful
experiences of the past. What we would rather remember is the good times. I think ...

YOU ARE THE PREY

Something Warren Buffett said in an interview struck me about gambling. In that interview, he was asked what he thought about 2 propositions being brought forth in his home state of Nebraska. Both of these were to bring casino gambling into the state and make it legal. His answer contained some interesting points and perspective. One thing he said was, "I don't think Nebraska should prey on its citizens through the legalization of gambling." Secondly, ...

Hi everyone,

Ive never posted on a board, let alone about my deepest secret, Gambling. Relapsed

I'm a sports gambler and I've had 3 years sobriety (a year a piece) in 5 years and I always seem to relapse. Everything was going well and I decided to gamble on my anniversary date which is 4/25. I'm trying to figure out how I can tell my mother that I've drained my bank account and I'm back to step one. As I write this I'm gambling the last few dollars I have in ...

Guilt.

Well, I haven't gambled since last Friday but that's not a huge accomplishment since I've had no money to gamble with. I've been reading here and really reminding myself every day that I have a problem and I have to fight it.

Payday is nearing and I'm confident that I won't gamble. Every dime I've made working 7 days a week for the past month+ is owed to debt anyway. I'm going to pay as ...

Mixed feelings about gambling, want non-judgemental opinions

Trigger Warning - some of my text is related to sports betting and I do not want those who don't want to read info about it to be affected so don't read my thread if it's bothering you.

Unfortunately, I guess, my "relationship" with gambling has been too long, probably since I was 16 years old.
However, I have to say, with time I learned what type of gambling is completely 'ridiculous' and what type ...

Las Vegas and realizing that I really don't want to gamble

So, is there better place to celebrate 900 days GF than Las Vegas? Since I only had a couple days and wanted to go somewhere warm it turned out that Vegas made the most sense.

I flew out Friday morning and was in the pool having drinks on the strip before noon. Followed that up with a nap, shower and an all-time great dinner at Nobu. Saturday was a trip to the Grand Canyon with ...

You win, I QUIT

Folks, if we think we can beat the casino, or the bookies or whatever betting foe we think we can defeat, we are mistaken. We keep charging ahead, like knights on steeds, but we are getting killed in the process.

Give it up. Even if you win sometimes, you lose your health and wholeness.

Please do not chase your losses. You are fighting someone who does not fight fair. You are boxing someone who has ...
