New Member - Really Low At Present

Hello everyone

I am a new member and I have come here because I don't currently have any other options.

I have had a gambling problem for around 4-5 years now and it just will not go away no matter how hard I try.

I have always had the odd flutter on the National and World Cup Winners since I was old enough and never even considered it to be wrong or an issue as ...

It's been fun.

Today, I realized that my imput and contributions in this forum are pretty much a waste of time.
Being positive and supportive for others is definitely not appreciated.
There is no magic cure for problem gambling...regardless of how many times I hear someone beat their chest and stomp their feet about GA! I stopped gambling because I was finally ready. Doesn't mean I don't have challenges and urges but I have 100's of times more ...

Help with Gambling Addiction

Hi all,

I'm 28 years old. I have a good job, but for years (since I was 15/16) have been completely hooked on gambling, mostly sports betting. I went through severe bouts of depression as an adolescent and this background dream of being successful at sports betting was, for many years, my only beacon ...

Change your mindset and have patience!

So I came up with a different way of thinking. So we all know that when we win in gambling you feel that rush and level of excitement. Well, I'm assuming most of you get paid every week or bi-weekly. Whatever the situation is, think of getting paid that day is money WON by being productive. Remember, place a bet on yourself and you'll always win. Don't place a bet on a bunch of athletes ...

Gold hunters and slot machines

Lately I have been watching a lot of the gold hunting shows and have noticed the striking similarities to my gambling addiction . Keep in mind , I do realize how "dramatized" these shows are .

The one that stands out the most is set in Greenland . Some of the stuff these guys say could have come out of my mouth at the height of my addiction . The parallels are uncanny .

A ...

I really like Gamblers Anonymous

I know this isn't a surprise to those of you who have been here but last night I was reminded of the many reasons I like GA. First of all, it has helped me abstain from gambling for almost a year and half now but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Some other reasons that GA is great are:

Seeing others come into the program and succeed - I can't say how much ...
