DD with Aspergers - Dealing with death

Hi all. My daughter is almost 7, she very suddenly lost her Nana 2 years ago and at the time, as it may have seemed, she didn't really seem to grieve. Now, 2 years on, she talks of death a lot. I would say, that maybe she is starting to realize the finality of it. She has said to me a few times now, while almost inconsolable, that she's worried that I'm going to die, ...

Spouse with DD...what should I expect

I'm new to this site, and have read so many heart-wrenching stories from people whose spouse have DD.

My husband was diagnosed with DD four years ago after a complete breakdown and hospitalization. He had been constantly harrassed by an ex-spouse for years (who is also likely dealing with her own mental health challenges)--she'd deny visitation, initiate random fights, etc. About a year before his break, he was presented court papers indicating several counts of ...

A Few Questions about BOUNDARIES

1. What sites or books have you used for setting boundaries?

2. Any advice on how to set a boundary regarding therapy? Ex., I would like for him to attend specific BDP therapy atleast twice a week but I know I can't make him do it. BUT I don't want any contact if he is not willing to go and to help himself. I also want to either be active with him or to somehow ...

HELP: Getting my brother into rehab and related problems

We recently discovered that my brother is doing heroin. Of course he denied it and blamed it on his friend. We know without a doubt that he's doing it. We're taking a slower step-by-step intervention approach, because given his proneness to anger, the type of group intervention you hear about and see on shows like Intervention would backfire. I have corresponded with two mental health professionals, including a renowned addiction specialist. After talking to the ...

Is it me, or is he too needy?

I recently began dating someone but have concerns about him. We've only been on five dates but after the first date, he began calling everyday. While I was initially okay with this, he started complaining that I don't speak to him long enough and began texting and emailing in addition to calling every day. I'm a busy professional with a demanding job, which he is aware of. He also seems unware of appropriate boundaries and ...

Need Advice for Dealing with Friend's Odd Behavior

I need help dealing with my friend's psychotic reactions to certain social situations, and would like to figure out if I can help him in some way.

He has told me that he suffers from ADHD and also has severe trust issues from being bullied as a child. Some of the behaviors he engages in which are common to those with ADHD include being easily distracted, excessive talking, and overall hyperactivity.

However, I think he ...
