ended friendship with a possible narcissistic friend

Hello all, I am new to this forum and purposely surfed the web for some form of help.
I have had a friend whom I've known for 12 years but just recently it has come to an end. I am not sure if she's narcissistic behaviour but a lot of what she's done, seems to point to it.
Last Saturday, this friend (I'll call her El, not her real name), updated her status on Facebook ...

Breakup advice (BPD?)

***moving this post to significant others, family & friends***

So I had met this beautiful charming girl at a mutual friend’s wedding. We had a great time and long story short we got dunk and hooked up. The catch is I was living in Philadelphia and she was in Orange County, California and on top of that I was in a relationship is a manic depressive bipolar who was heavily medicated. I was thinking about ...

Ending an affair (possibly bpd husband)

First post out of desperation, my husband has been trying to end his affair for the past 4 months. Unsuccessfully. It seems his pendulum swings from day to day. He tells us (mistress n wife) he wants to end it with the other but everytime he tries, he cant do it. If either of us runs out of patience n tries to leave he pulls us both back. I feel his words only ring true ...

NEW way to avoid a Narcssist ex!

I have heard a lot of people say that you should have no contact with your ex N and you should delete their number.

I agree that no contact is good, but sometimes this is not possible and also it can be easy to fall back into old habits and call them when times are tough or be sucked back in. So I suggest keeping their number in your phone and here is why:

Change ...

What are the signs of a Narc mother?

My H has BPD, and I've been going to a T.

After a few sessions of telling my T about H's family, my T surprised me and said, "Well, you do realize that your MIL has NPD." I was shocked. We both completely agreed that my FIL likely has BPD (like my H), but I never would have guessed that my MIL has NPD.

She's a likeable person, adored by her own adult children and ...

Is this typical? May Trigger (bpd)

My H has BPD, but has not been told by his T.

H believes that the world is targetting him in some way. He'll list several rather minor hiccups together and say that it's a Perfect Storm. These hiccups are things that everyone faces everyday...traffic, lines in the store, somebody misunderstanding what you've said, dropping your phone in the car and having to look for it, etc.

It's gotten to the point that he can ...

Thrown Away But He Won't Leave Me Alone (NPD b/f?)

Hello everyone,

I'm so confused and hurt. I've been in an on again, off again relationship with a man for 1.5 years. While obviously I am not qualified to diagnose, I suspect he may have NPD. He doesn't seem to have all traits, but several, including:

Lying, about absolutely everything.
Envy. I am punished (he stops talking to me) if I ever share good news with him, so I just don't.
Bragging.
Extreme competitiveness with ...

Just Need Guidance

At this point, I am very nearly positive my ex-boyfriend is HPD, and I'll admit, he frightens me. I won't cover our long, long, LONG past of bull... because you all know. These people follow a very frightening pattern, and it is insanely horrifying to me that they can be so convincing in their "I'm sorry"s and "I love You, I'll never do it again"s. I just need to know, what can I do to ...

I think my wife has PPD.

Hi everyone.

This is my first post but I was watching the conversations some months back when I first suspected my wife has PPD. I confronted her with this suspicion after a fair bit of reading about it, including on this forum. But it didn't go well; we've since moved on and had a pretty happy life but her symptoms have continued with varying degrees of impact.

She is constantly fighting with people but blames ...
