family issues, mostly

Not sure if I'm in the read thread, but I'll give this a go.

I'm 47, male, and currently living with my father. Ten years or more ago I was off and on dating a woman about 6 years younger then me but we never got past out intimacy issues. Some thought she was using me, others just thought I should move on and some others would suggest things to try to move things forward. ...

Schizophrenic(?) brother starving himself

My brother in his 40s has apparently had paranoia for years, although I only realized how serious it was in recent months. He'd strangely left jobs over the years and maybe there were other signs I didn't notice. In recent months, he sold his house and moved in with our parents. He's talked about people sneaking around and messing with his life and framing him. He's afraid that electronics around him are always being hacked ...

Help understanding relationship with Histronic

I'll try and keep this as short as possible. I started dating a girl I'd known since high school towards the end of last year. We only casually knew one another and didn't keep in contact over the years and are both now 35. She'd always been a girl who was super outgoing, nice and went to Church all the time. I went into the relationship giving 100% of my trust.
During the relationship she ...

HPDs advice to a Non

Hi, everyone. I got involved with a HPD person, didn't know this term existed until a few days ago, I stumbled on a comment on a news portal mentioning HPD, so Googled and found this.

I must say it is is kind of weird to read all this, as I feel I'm spying on her personality. Which really isn't the case, as all people are different but still, kind of weird.

We had quite a ...

Experiences of healing a narcissist

After 15 years of living together and marriage, I have only now recognized that my wife has NPD. There were a few other conditions (anxiety disorder, HSP to name two) which in part blocked me from seeing the NPD. I have now somewhat extensively studied NPD, and even I am not licensed to diagonse, I do see too many strong signs that my wife is a covert narcissist. My wife's 10 year old diagnosis of ...

Am I rudeless for cutting out a narc friend?

First of all, English isn't my native language so apologies if this is hard to follow at some points. Also cause this is gonna be a long post but is my first time opening up on this and is a lot of bottled feelings. Some background:
I've met this girl for 18 years, since we were 15. She was always a little extra and too much but instead of maturing she got even worse overtime. ...

Am I experiencing narcissism, or is it all in my mind?

My circumstances are as follows: over the years, I’ve noticed an increasing amount of controlling behaviour from one of my parents and a sibling. Reflecting on it, it has always been this way since childhood: significant restrictions on what I could do and not do, who I could see, not being allowed to have friends over, being given silent treatment, always having tread on ‘eggshells’ in case I caused an atmosphere at home, not being ...

Bipolar ADHD girlfriend question need guidance please.

My girlfriend is on Vivance, Ceraquil, Lymiqtal, sorry about the spelling. She used to take Adderall. The problem is that when she runs out of energy around 1pm she becomes extremely anxious and bored with intrusive thoughts, this makes her irritable to say the least. She used to use alcohol to relax but it was causing some damaging behavior. Her psych will not prescribe her a "helping" dose of amphetamine. So right now her "functional" ...

My history. Please help.

This girl i had been seeing on and off for a couple months cheated on me last week, and I broke off. I recently discovered she's histrionic, and all my hatred, bile and anger towards her turned into sadness and pity. I will not get romantically involved with her ever again, but I also know that she will never be happy in her life if she continues down this path.

This will be long, but ...

New To Schizophrenia

Hi all,
I've joined this forum in hopes of helping myself learn as much about Schizophrenia as I can. My adult son has come to live with me after years of not being apart of my life. He has been living with his Dad's side of the family. During the years of not being apart of my life he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia. I know absolutely nothing about this disorder, especially having a son come ...
