Advice

I realize advice here doesn't double as a professional opinion but I would like to know what some of you out there think.

For the last two years I have been obsessed with having a mental illness or diagnosis. It generally starts with a researching period where I spend excessive amounts of time learning everything there is to know about the illness/diagnosis (so much of my life wasted!). A period of half convincing myself I ...

where is the line drawn??

How is the diagnosis made between Factitous and Workmans Comp Fraud? A fellow nurse has tried in the past to fake Multiple Sclerosis so she could get WC. Another nurse DID have the disease severely, and the cheater nurse would give the same symtoms to the doc. The tests came back negative, so she had to work. Boo Hoo. Now, she has come up with another disease- I don't know what, as I don't work ...

Does she have it? Should I tell her doctor?

My sister has many symptoms of factitious disorder. The 30+ years that this has been going on are way too long to go into so I'll leave it unless someone asks questions. Why I'm concerned now is that during an attempt to get herself diagnosed with MS, she has been diagnosed with ALS. (MS, although a nasty disease, is usually slow to progress, can go into remission for years at a time, and does not ...

Is this a mental illness?

I just started reading about this and to me it sounds like a mental illness. Does anyone agree? Do you think MS is a mental illness?

WHY DOES NO ONE GET IT?! >.<

why does no one get that Munchausen's IS NOT A CHOICE!

We dont sit and think "i know, lets make something up. That'll be a good way to spend a Sunday."

i hate it so so much.

My Mum's a mental health nurse and even she hates me for it, and she's confirmed that pretty much all health officials hate Munchausen's patients.

ARRRGGGGG >.<

Thats for listening,

Is this a form of Munchausens?

I never pretend to be sick or hurt, but sometimes I feel down about how physically "healthy" I am (I do have depression). Instead of being glad about that, I feel like a freak. I almost never get anything worse than a cold. Sometimes I wish I were more delicate and had a lower immune system. I almost am disappointed that I don't have more side effects from the meds I take. I don't feel ...

Yeah.

Erm. I need to prove a point to some people...

Is it possible to have MS exclusively with mental illnesses?

And would somebody with MS - research and try to pretend they have things like "tapeworm" lol or do people with MS try to deceive people by pretending they have life threatening illnesses?

Cuz, yeah, my friend I looked at his internet history and he is researching alot about mental illnesses and other minor illnesses. ...

regarding family members

hi

my mother and grandmother both seem to display symptoms of a "factitious disorder" like munchausens, I would like some advice.

my mother seems to do it more, my grandmother is 85 and now far too riddled with actual physical problems i think to worry about creating fictitious ones. once, when both my sister and I were moving out of their house, my grandmother did tell us she had stomach cancer and 6 months to ...
