Hi all,

My assessmnets start at the end of next month and I wondering with on going treatment am I going to get better or will the end result be just understanding dyslexia better?

And what is getting better, can the brain be stimulated into growth and all of a sudden every thing makes sence?

And can you be intelligent and have dyslexia?
I'm far form intelligent but hope with lots of work this dyslexia ...

I have been diagnosed with the math form of dyslexia. It is so bad that I am 24 and cannot pass algebra one. HIGH SCHOOL algebra one. I have the following issues:

- i often mix up the sense of words: for example i say to my father - mother, me - you, i confuse 'forward' with 'backward', 'past' with 'future', etc.
- i remember numbers reversed (if i should remember 76, i think it is 67 instead)
- i'm ambidextrous
- i have no troubles reading or writing (though many times i confused or reversed the letters E, k, g with ...

I've had this problem ever since I could read, but I was really ashamed that I couldn't read as well as all the other kids, so I hid it. I'm 14 now, and it's still here and as bad as ever.

Hello, I didn't know where else to put this so I decided to try it here. Is there such a thing as speech dyslexia?

I can read fine and I don't mix up letters or anything, but problem is when I talk.

Often when I'm trying to say something I will mess my words up.
examples:
I tried to say "combat boots" and I said "comboot bats"

I'm an older adult that is interesting in being tested and seeking help with dyslexia. I've called a local center that focuses on Dyslexia in both children and adults. I've spoken to someone over the phone and they appear to be knowledgeable. They're recommending a two hour evaluation and will provide a detailed report of their findings and recommendations.
