hi i was wondering if anybody has ever been scared or unsure about others finding out about being dyslexic? ive nown for a while that i have dyslexia but its always been something i have fort against and not wanted to face but im slowly coming to terms with it and im in college where people are starting to find out and im worried because i dont want there opinions to change of me or ...

My 7-year-old daughter has been struggling in school. Long story short, she had viral meningitis at 9 weeks of age so I have been "on watch" to see if she would have any difficulty with academics. We've run an Auditory Processing evaluation (normal), had her expressive language screened by the school's Speech/Language Pathologist (normal), had her evaluated at the local university using the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (normal). Yet her school performance is dismal ... ...

I work for a supermarket as a customer service assistant. Been there for 5 years. Never had an issue with my dyslexia until recently.There was an issue which I don't want to bring up which gave me a written warning. With my old line manager, I didn't have any issues. But personal problems outside work have revealed my dyslexia and dyspraxia to show up more

Suppose a teacher offered to tutor your dyslexic child every day (with the principal's OK) at no charge and, within a week of beginning lessons, you saw dramatic increases in his reading, writing and spelling ability. And within a month he was on level in all these areas.

And then, after a month or so, the Powers That Be down at the main office decided to halt those tutoring sessions because the interventions were not ...

Slowly but surely the word is getting out that this simple technique will help visual dyslexics overcome reading and writing problems - and it costs nothing.

Hello!

I decided to send a handwritten letter to this guy I like (he lives in another city). He's dyslexic, however, and I wonder if my handwriting may make reading it difficult for him.

Can anyone with first hand experience of dyslexia tell me if this could be an issue for him or if I'm just worrying too much? Any tips on how to increase legibility other than just writing carefully?
