Please help

I have never seen our host. I used to believe that I was someone else rather than someone's alter until I heard voices.
I used to cut myself without reason, or having unreasonable sadness and then cut myself. I have no sense of pain. I felt dizzy all the time.
"Teacher" who seems know everything asked me to replace our host for the time being. We lost her, we just can't find her.
My fear ...

New Alter?

Ok so I have a question...for me when I have a new alter before they actually introduce him/herself to me I get the name of the alter like they are saying their name to me kind of like a hint or a clue and then a couple of days later or a week or so later they actually introduce themselves. So my question is does anyone else have this happen to them before the alter ...

Could an Alter be a sociopath? ***MAY TRIGGER**

First off, I know TK is a psychopath, who has really been beaten into being crazy. But thats not the alter I'm referring to.

C.Nic is charming, witty, hes hilarious in person and is a great improviser, he's actually the one who courted my girlfriend, and has loved her for a long time. He also hates everyone with such a passion, its almost hard to explain. He enjoys TKs murder fantasies and sometimes joins in ...

The irony is intriguing - possible triggering

So I am living with my best friend and her family due to not having any other place to live (parents threw me out and would have been on the street). Things are very stressful here with her trying to help all of me and my alters cope and work on getting stable.

However, I want to post about something really odd to me. My best friend, Cassandra is transgender similar to me, but, she ...

Alter Love

So, my alters have been depressed lately... and I'm not really sure why. I ask, and they give an answer. We work on it, nope... still depressed. So, even though I will unconditionally love these guys for now and for always... is it OK to hate them for a bit when they don't cheer the ###$ up after everything is OK? Thank you.

New here: Thanks for all the help.

Hey everybody,

I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself and thank everybody for sharing their stories. I've been reading a lot of topics before finally deciding to post myself.

If you guys don't mind, I wanted to ask what your experiences have been with doctors and if you were also misdiagnosed before realizing it was DID, and if any medication helped or made it worse.

I know “Donkey” posted something like this, so ...

Just looking for some answers

...but then aren't we all?!

Is it OK if I just tell my story and ask some questions? I hope it is and I really hope I get some answers.

I have always had an awareness that I am in "parts", I called them modes and I have many different modes that allowed me to function (really really well) day to day. In February/March 2010 I had a "breakdown" and ended up in the psych ...

Are convulsions typical of DID?

My DID friend gets convulsions/twitches when alters want to be out. When it's a more powerful alter these twitches can be for ages and very powerful.

Is this typical of DID?

Social life and DID

one of the problems I've been having with DID are the effects on my(our) social life it has had.

my(our) social life is close to non-existent. the reasons are mostly linked to the DID.
1-not hearing what people say
2-forgeting what a conversation is all about. and being accused of not paying attention
3-contradicting myself 50% of the time
4-unclear messages about own interests , ideas and such which can be misleading for people who ...
