"Coincidences" that reinforce delusions

I've suffer from what I believe to be a delusional disorder. I believe in my delusions at least 90% of the time but there's a small piece of me that wants to resist succumbing to the delusions.

Basically, I believe that my parents are trying to put a drug into my body that will keep me weakened- not kill me but to weaken me. I began to believe this because in the "real world" my ...

Hi,

I posted a similar thread on the bipolar forum but since then I've researched on schizophrenia and DD. I now believe that my girlfriend has DD.

Here's the story...

About three weeks ago, my girlfriend discovered some family issues that's been extremely traumatizing and stressful for her. Basically, she found documents to believe that her step-mom has been planning for years to transfer over family assets to her step-brother. A lot of the assets ...

Old antipsychotic drugs comparable to new drugs, study finds
By Rosie Mestel
Los Angeles Times

A landmark study comparing schizophrenia drugs has found that an older medication, perphenazine, is as effective at managing the devastating brain disorder as most of the newer, more-expensive drugs.

The study also found that one newer drug, olanzapine, was modestly more effective than the other four medications in the trial but also carried the greatest risk for the side effects ...

Mourning my lost relationship with a DD husband

I stumbled across this website this afternoon and having read most of the posts, I am both sad and relieved at the same time. Sad because it stirs up so many memories and emotions. Relieved because FINALLY there are people who understand and live this crisis with a significant other.

My husband has been diagnosed with DD and has a very complex web of beliefs that include a grand plot involving just about everybody on ...

I need help.

I filed for divorce from my husband, who was diagnosed with PPD and DD in 2004. This followed ten years of accusations and interrogations about imagined affairs and sexual indiscretions. We have three small children - one is a baby. He wants custody and is launching a distortion campaign. I do not know how to defend myself- there is no opportunity to speak to the judge who is assigned to the case. There is a ...

My husband has delusional disorder. He is on the medication now. I want to have a baby, but can not make my decision. The doctor won't allow him to stop the medication since he had a relapes before. Is it too risky to have a baby when the father is on meds. Will the father pass the illness to my baby? Can anyone tell me their personal experience with that? I will really appreciate all ...

Does this sound like Delusional disorder?

Hi, I am 24 years old and I live in Maine. I just found out 2 days ago that a lot of significant events in the last 6 months did not actually occur. They were very significant events and they were also negitive. I "thought" that i had been attacked, gone to the police, and hospital and yet when I tried to get the records there were none to be found. I just got back ...

My last post was almost a year ago. This was it:

I have been married for 4 years now to a wonderful man, but through these four years, he has accused me of cheating on him over one hundred times. These delusions have at times been so real to him that he called me names and was prepared to confront the man he thought I was with. He in not comfortable leaving me alone or ...
