Delusions based on real events

My wife's central delusion is that our neighbours are stealing, cutting, and poisoning plants in our yard. The thing is, the neighbours actually have stolen and cut our plants on several occasions in the past (not sure about the poisoning). Can it be DD/persecutory to believe past events are recurring? She's very high functioning and her condition doesn't seem to be as severe as any I've read about on this forum. Is there something less ...

Dr. Phil - Today's Show

Dr. Phil finally named the problem for what it really is on today's show. Today's show topic was jealousy. He actually suggested to the first guest that he had delusional disorder - jealousy. His prognosis was too optimistic in my opinion. He also did not appear to understand what the victim was going through or why she stays.

He is finally addressing real and serious issues!

Delusions? or something else? please help

A few months back I had the idea that I was being given signs by 'God' that seemed relevant to the experiences I was undergoing at the time.

Some personal background:

male / 29 yrs old / no past history of any psych disorder other than a period of depression (due to stress)

it all happened when I met this girl online, I had been dateless for a couple of years (dealing with this depression ...

erotomania

Hi

I'm new here

I believe I am suffering from this kind of disorder, but in a milder form, or at least in combination with some other disorders that prevent it from being a problem to others.

I'm in my early 20's, and I "fell in love" (which is if of course only what I believed it to be) with this girl years ago, only after seeing here in highschool often. It was just something ...

Desperate-Need DR in College Station Texas

I know this is a long shot, but....................

Does anyone know of a doctor in College Station, TX or Bryan, TX that has experience in evaluation and treating a Delusional (Paranoid) Disorder - (persecution type)?

I feel I have just one shot at getting my brother help. He lives in the above area, and I do not. He is allowing me to fly in and take him to a doctor.

If not, how can I ...

Medication for DD?

Following my earlier post, does anyone know the latest or best general pharmecutical approach for someone with mixed DD (jealousy and persecution)?

Why don't I ask my mental health professional? My partner lives in Madagascar. There are only a few psychiatrists for 20 million people and their methods are very dated.

DD,Inheritability and Having A Child

My ex parter had mixed DD, jealous and persecutory sub-types. These led to a serious psychotic episode that took a year or more to settle down and included brief hospitalization at age 29.

She now realises she was sick, and says she recognises when she starts to get odd thoughts, and can control them. She remains a lovely, intelligent person. She often laughs at the paranoid ideas she had and can discuss her problems rationally and ...

Living and coping with a Jealous DD

I'm wondering if some of my reactions and behavior in trying to cope with constant accusations are normal.

Once I learned he was hiding recorders and invading my privacy I was constantly searching for them. Even though I wasn't doing anything wrong I didn't want to be recorded. I've confiscated at least 5 voice recorders.

I guess what I am saying is I am concerned about my own behavior now. I document eveything in a ...

Psychiatrists are no exception

:) Hi everyone:

My name is Luis, I’m from Mexico and have been practicing psychiatry for about 24 years. As you can imagine I have had the opportunity to manage my share of DDs of various thematic flavors but never really understood what family members went through until it struck my life.

I had detected mild signs of paranoia in my wife for the last 12 years ...

Delusional Disorder - Jealousy

Let me begin by saying that I need a lot of help. For a little over two years my life has been a living hell and getting worse everyday.

I met and fell in love with the most wonderful man. The first three years were absolutely perfect. We were both extremely happy, living together, and planning our future.

Then without cause, he accused me of cheating on him. I reassured him that I was not ...
