I am new and learning about BPD because my fiancee' may have it. He left without an explanation about eight weeks ago. I suspect he is using drugs and was doing it casually for months before that. His behavior started getting distant about November/December and definitely by January.

I'm 18 and have been to too many doctors/psychiatrists/psychologists to count.
Some in the past have confirmed I have a form of schizophrenia and now some are saying its bpd and they want to put me on antipsychotics...
Do they normally put people with bpd on those? They gave me lots of info on bpd and I haven't heard of anything to do with hallucinations which is one of my main problems....Could the doctors just ...

for at least thirteen years (since i was eighteen) i've been suffering from some sort of depression and or rage disorder. my mother had it also so i just always figured it was "in my blood". yesterday however, i read for 3 hours on BPD and couldn't believe that noone has ever diagnosed me with this before considering i've been on dozens of medications and seen numerous therapist, counselors, psychiatrists....

I am curious if anyone-either professional or patient-knows what happened to the Borderline long-term treatment unit at the New York State Psychiatric Unit(PI) at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. From many years, this unit was one of the most famous treatment and training facilities. Is it closed? Did it move to a new location? If it closed, what happened? If anyone knows, please post. I've read through a lot of these posts, and people say they've had sexual abuse, mental abuse, or things like that. I never have. I have wonderful parents, husband etc. I've never had alcohol problems or anything like that. Though alcohol seems to make all I'm about to say even worse.
