I posted a similar topic in the narcissistic forum, but I want imput here. I have been diagnosed borderline for several years now. I was pregnant a couple years back by someone I did not want to have a child with so I went through an abortion. Now I want to have a child again. I need someone to love me regardless of being borderline. I feel ike when I date or have sex with ...

Very similar symptoms...does it seem as if I have BPD?

Well I first decided that I thought something strange was going on with me when I got in a big fight with my parents one day about year ago. For some reason, the fight struck me as being slightly unusual even though it really wasn't at all, It was your typical teenager vs. parents fight. But for some reason that particular disagreement caused me to step back and take a long look at myself and ...

the "big 5" personality traits.

Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness.

How do you as a BP rate yourself? Are you extraverted or introverted? Are you open (interested in art, exploring your feelings, curious of a wide variety of intellectual pursuits, possibly believe in ghosts or ufos?) or closed to all these types of things), agreeable or somewhat disposed to interpersonal dissatisfactions/quarrels? consciountious (meet deadlines, rarely procrastinate, self starter) or less so?

Do I have BPD?

I have always had a feeling something was wrong. I don't engage in relationships and in a way I do alot of things to make sure my chances for one are sabotaged.

the other day at work(in a kitchen), a coworker cut himself by taking his eyes of the knife he was using and got upset at himself. My immediate reaction when he jerked his hand away after the cut was mild laughter. At first ...

Regarding Abandonment

We all know the general definition of fear of (physical) abandonment-- Not wanting someone to leave (abandon) you, and fearing this.

As noted in a few currently active threads, this is a core feature of BPD.

But I'm wondering about my abandonment issues. Mine seem to not relate to people, but instead... Things. Fiction. Like TV shows, or books. Comics. Mediums of entertainment.

I just went through a relatively long stage of depression and dissociation, ...

Why And how did you find out you had BPD?

I lived with my exbf for a year, the good times were amazing, but the usual BPD drama was horribly chaotic (he was undiagnosed but seemed to mostly fit the profile). As a result of our relationship my exbf went into therapy for the first time (he's in his late 30s), set up a psychiatric evaluation, and massively cut down on his long-term habits of smoking weed and gambling. Also, he wrote to me many ...

Fantasy?

Is there a name for it when you have a sort of fantasy that is almost delusional? One that is recurrent and grandiose.

Or is it just a fantasy?

hi I'm newly dx and struggled for 27 years

Happy day. I finally found a literature that speaks to me. i've been in and out of therapy for 27 years and finally have found what is "wrong" with me. After two hospitalizations and probably 10 - 15 therapists over the last 27 years, I finally encountered a therapist who openly diagnosed me as BPD. Why don't they tell us sooner?

I've been reading everything I can get my hands on, especially Masterson whom I ...

relitive with BPD

I have a brother who has BPD, He was diagnosed with it and now acts like he never was told about it.
He has alway had a fetish of having to buy or apear to have the best of what ever it was he had. He would rather not have something than apear not to have the best. I.E. 60$ aftershave,50$ shirts,75$ whiskey,1800$ tv. When more inexpensive would do.
He has hooked up with a ...
