i had BPD for may years- am coming out of it now, thanks to help i have received, but i still feel a guilt over all the years of my life i wasted over thi sdisorder. i always had BPD traits as a child and early teen, but by the time i was 17, i wasn't fighting it anymore and actually embraced the disease. being sick meant i had some kind of identity at last. ...

Protection from parent with BPD

I believe strongly that my father has BPD. I have Walking on Eggshells, and he seems to be a classic case (my therapist originally suggested it to me). He's been to therapy, but he is known to not recognize truth vs. what he makes up, so he has never been diagnosed.

My mother died 2 weeks ago. She took care of him in every way. He never paid bills, he never could keep a job, ...

New here. may trigger. Help needed

Ok. first off, I am in DEEP denial with the posibility that I may have BPD., because I don't believe I relate to many of the symptoms and I shall explain further in due course.
But I guess I need to understand it, to understand it myself.

A little bit of background;
I’ve been in psychiatric care since age 13 (I’m now 19). I saw a shrink for depression and issues with my gender identity.. ...

Child has friendship with a BPD

It's been awhile since I've posted here. The last time being about a HPD who was once in my life, and fortunately no longer. I should add the best resistence to an HPD's charm is a healthy dose of self esteem. But that's another topic.

I come here hoping to assist my 13 yr old daughter in transitioning away from her BPD friend without being physically harmed.

Here's a little background. My daughter became close ...

BPD

I have been diagnosed with BPD. And I actually got a second opinion about a year ago and the therapist still told me I had BPD.

I recently read a book about it, and found it very informative.

But some of the things the book says is very candy coated. Where as with my old therapist she basically told me that I would suck all the love that anyone could give me, and it would ...

Feeling terrible stress when anyone gets what they want

Hi,

My sister & I just found out about borderline personality. Her son is 17. For years she has been at a loss for how to help/deal with his behaviors. He has been diagnosed with Auspergers and ADD, but neither fit as far as we could tell.

I can't believe how much the symptoms of borderline fit his behaviors (blaming despite his family's attempts at satisfying his many unreasonable demands, hurting himself to get out ...

Newbie

I have read some of your posts and I feel like I am home. BPD is just one of my symptoms. It has almost taken my life. I am a cutter, ex burner, I am a adult child of a very abusive family and I believe my parents have NPD in a bad way. (No offense to those who have that too, I respect your struggles as well but hey I've been burned bad.) I ...
