BPD DIAGNOSIS ASSESSMENT.

Hi,
I have an appointment to see a physicist on Thursday in aim to get an official diagnosis for BPD.
I'm really stressing about it, not due to the diagnosis, I mean, I've accepted that as have been given an unofficial diagnosis by the mental health workers, but need to have it officially given to get the help, treatment needed.

What I'm stressing about is the not knowing what is going to happen, not knowing ...

Alternative Treatment of BPD

Hello all,

I stumbled upon a chapter on BPD about 5 months ago and it was a great day. It was like I had finally solved the mystery... Finally something explained all the experiences that made no sense.

Since therapy, counselling and medication never game me much in the way of results, I dove into alternative methods of treatment and I am wondering if anyone else has. I have been exploring Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Neuro-Semantics ...

Apology.BPD Flea Post.

I am the one that had the question about the BPD flea post. This was not asked to be a blatant offense to people on here who are afflicted with BPD and struggle with it. This was a legitimate question because I noticed some subtle changes in my own behavior after a long term relationship with a BPD individual. This was an honest question. If I inadvertantly offended any of you I sincerely do apologize. ...

Attachment theory and BPD

This is a question that perhaps is best directed to those familiar with theories of development.

I was just reading a book about a form of couples therapy (Hold Me Tight, by Sue Johnson) that is based on Bowlby's attachment theory, and it made me wonder if BPD is a form of attachment disorder.

What do you think?

BPD "Fleas"

I have read in different places that being involved with a borderline disordered individual can make you get "fleas" or adopt some of their behavior(s). Is this something that is permanent or temporary in nature. How long does this last?

How do you deal with the Stigma?

When I was first diagnosed I felt some relief. I now knew what is 'wrong' with me. Because it was identified I can now begin awareness and treatment. I really didn't expect all the negativity that came out of the diagnosis it'self. I saw the amount of incorrect information out there, and my therapist gave me a run down about it, and the response of people when they have read it. I don't tell anyone ...
