Another Saturday night and I ain't got nobody...

I'm brand new to this forum and could definitely use someone to talk to. I was diagnosed with BPD about six months ago, but my psychiatrist thinks I've had it for six or seven years.

I have no insurance and can't afford DBT. I see my psychiatrist for free at a nonprofit place once every two or three months, but he only does med maintenance. No therapy.

I'm pretty overwhelmed. I don't know which things ...

Obsessed or in love or just another BPD moment?

Hi all,

I'm new here - my first post. I've been a lurker for a while and have found comfort in reading many posts that I can relate too. I was diagnosed many years ago (about 12 yrs ago) and in hindsight know that I was displaying symptoms of BPD for many years before that. When I was in high school/university, there were no BPD forums or message boards. In fact, there was on internet ...

Checking our Motives!!!

I thought I'd take the time to post this, because it has been helpful for me and maybe it will be helpful for someone else. While I haven't found everything in dbt to be practical in my life, it has made me more self aware with my motives. I'm a typical person with bpd that wants to be liked and/or loved. I've discovered within myself that at times when I do things for others it's ...

Newbie here - need help!

Hi everyone,

I'm completely new here so I have no idea if I'm posting in the right section.

I was diagnosed with BPD about 2 years ago (when I was 18) and since then have been working consistently on improving through medication and CBT (also looking for DBT at the moment). I've managed to eliminate most of my symptoms and I feel better than before, but something has come up and I'm not sure what ...

Blaming Yourself

Among my circle of friends here on the forum there have been some devestating developments lately. I was speaking with one member going through the toughest thing she'e ever had to face in life and she said something.

I had earlier shared my touble with her (I have been diagnosed with a serious medical problem. Thursday I find out what treatment options I have. Nothing will cure it but there may be ways to delay ...

Hi I'm new here

Hi, I'm a female graduate student living in an isolated college town. I've been with my first and current boyfriend for 7 years, and 90% of the time it's been hell for both of us.

Around 2 years ago I started getting therapy on campus, which eventually led to a dumb incident with the freak'in police that got my BF into legal trouble and haunts us to this day. I still cannot cope with the ...

How to stop catastrophizing? (Abandonment/Attachment Fears)

I'm just wondering.. have any of you fellow BPDers managed to find a good technique to calm yourself down in instances where you think that you are being ignored?

I have such a bad habit of freaking out if my boyfriend (especially him, I rarely freak out about others) doesn't call me EXACTLY when he says he is going to or text me back within the amount of time that I consider appropriate (which is ...
