Self Harm and Autism

I'm 24, technically female and officially diagnosed with bipolar, borderline and PTSD. From an early age I was moved (due to eviction) frequently, abused emotionally and at times physically by my mother, amongst other things. These incidents make it difficult to determine if my traits are environmental or autism based. I will try and keep this short.

I was talking with a close friend (a bit older with a lot more life experience) about strange ...

Alexithymia

IS a "new" diagnosis that is often being misunderstood by laypersons as having a lack of emotion. As I understand it, is basically being bewildered by your own feelings. Before I ever found this thing I think I could have described my problems as the textbook definition of this diagnosis to my previous shrink who told me this is "aspbergian" in nature but said there may not be a name yet for what I describe. ...

I think I'm autistic?

Firstly, I'm in my teens and I have been diagnosed with anxiety at 8 and my therapist thinks I have Social Anxiety Disorder but I have a lot of symptoms that I don't think fit that diagnosis. My symptoms, I think, are very close to that of autism (very mild).

*I'm terrible at making eye contact, it's very hard for me but can be achieved for short periods of time.

*I have a lot of ...

Social contact and Friendships

I'd like to broaden my horizons on the area of knowledge of mechanisms people with autism use. Basically I'd like to hear from as much people as possible how they meet new people, how they keep in contact with those poeple, and how they make and keep new friends.

So it would help me a lot if you could answer those questions for me, thank you in advance.

1. How do you meet new people? ...

How might I see if I have signs of autism?

So many people have suggested it over the years though I am diagnosed with ADHD and social anxiety. Some people think there is more there and I have never been formally tested for autism and I don't think it's ever been ruled out.

OCD Spike: Is it Autism/Aspergers (Please help)...

I've posted this before- but have elaborated and expanded a little. Thoughts please?
I rarely use these websites, so a reply would be appreciated.
Note: I've had OCD for a while and thanks to 150 mg of Zoloft and some self cbt, I've gotten much better. HOWEVER:
Every now and then it flares up.
Currently I fear being autustic/aspergers. I realize there's nothing wrong with those individuals but my OCD seems to tell me I ...

autism, ghosts, anxiety, children.. can't think a good title

Ok, wow. So horribly titled post but I think it encompasses everything this post deals with.

My brother is (or maybe was) diagnosed autistic. I believe the diagnosis was changed to Asperger's, we haven't kept in touch. My family's a host of psych issues, depression, schizo, bipolar, it's all fun stuff.

When my brother was 4, he began talking about a woman, Janice. Janice took him out for a day, told him lots of things ...
