Aspie mid-life burnout?

I'm currently in the process of getting evaluated for Asperger's/ASD, but feel pretty confident I may fall somewhere on the spectrum. However, I live on my own and currently have a decent job so I guess I would be considered high functioning. The thing is, I feel like a fraud and that I'm really failing at everything in life.

I have changed jobs within my organization 3 times in the 5 years I've worked there. ...

How do I know if I'm really Asperger?

Sorry if my english is not very good, it's not my first language.

Well my whole life I had different struggles, I wouldn't play games because the kids would always say how terrible I was in it, I couldn't speak the "r" and had a small problem with "s" and I had to go to a speech therapist and I still have a little of problem in the way I speak but nothing very wrong, ...

Constantly Getting in Fights?

Because of my extreme hatred of being touched I'm a horrible, threatening, violent person in specific cases, and I have an urge to hurt those who intrude on my space or are within 2 ft of me. I have lots of people I trust. Nice people. These people can be used for many things, specifically defensive walls. But then there are the not so nice people. The people who take advantage of my anxious personality, ...

Got an unclear email reply after having asked twice

Since it's my 1st post in this forum (not in the whole site), I'll do a short introduction. I've been diagnosed with mild Asperger's by a neuropsychologist and that was approved by the psychiatrist that made the reference (to the neuropsychologist). Before that I made a few consultation with a psychologist, as part of counseling (so not directly for me), and the psychologist though I had Asperger's. As I received the neuropsychologist diagnosis, I was ...

Social Retardation?

I know this is a common symptom for Asperger's, but I have it real bad actually. I am a block of information, a computer. That's all. It's really quite hilarious actually. I am a a logical computer that does nothing but take in and execute information when appropriate. I have no social boundaries except a small degree of conservative dress and behavior (I'm extremely rigid, like a robot), and about a medium degree of self ...

Family Won't Leave Me Alone After Sixteen Years

I used to be an honor student back in school. I got good grades and had perfect attendance for many years. And then in May of 1999 at the age of 16, I got diagnosed with Aspergers. And suddenly...BANG! That was all my family cared about. Nothing I did until then mattered anymore. Suddenly I became a human guinea pig. They started watching programs about Asperger's and trying to get me to watch them. They ...

23-Year-Old with Asperger's Help/Tips

Hello. I'm a 23-year-old female, and although I've never been diagnosed by a professional (only self-diagnosed), I'm more than certain that I have Asperger's. I've struggled my entire life to fit in with people and communicate with others. I have no friends; the friends I do make I end up losing, because of my disinterest or uncertainty of what to do/say. I have a hard time connecting with others and expressing myself, talking about myself, ...

Misdiagnosed w/ Bipolar Disorder, but Suspect Asperger's?

Hi, I'll try to make this as brief as possible detailing/info-dumping my aspects that I feel relate to Asperger's/ASD, and those that may go against that diagnosis.

I'm 21, almost 22. I just took the rdos test and got 137 Neurodiverse/65 Neurotypical "very likely Aspie" score. I took the ASQ test and got 42. I've had depression and anxiety for a long time, as well as ADHD and obsessive thoughts, but as a youngin' I ...

Does this sound like Aspergers?

- poor social skills, very awkward, not sure of anything to say, and then not sure if what is about to be said is appropriate, or if what was just said was, generally anxious around people

- obsessional interests, for example, in psychological diagnoses - trying to fit things together, but probably not actually getting anywhere with it, and just doing it out of habit/for immediate cognitive effects

- unusual reponses to sensual stimulation, for ...
