Reconciliation with a friend that I parted ways with

Okay so I am an autistic man and I had a female friend that I recently parted ways with, who was just plain beautiful to me in every aspect of herself. Our Friendship was really amazing and I enjoyed and genuinely appreciated every minute, second, and hour of time that we had with each other. I honestly didn't even expect for us to reconnect with each other, so you know that the first day I ...

Aspergers and friendship

Hi, I have been through a lot aside from aspergers, but i was wondering if anyone has best friends and what they are like.

I try to find people who are open minded and respectful and kind, and i have kept a lot of friends, but not many other people want to keep me.

It is hard for them to understand what i am saying. Not literally, but to relate.

What are your friends like. ...

How Can I Learn to Cope Properly?

As someone with Aspergers, I can say that it there are times when it gets to be a bit difficult to manage. Since I was diagnosed as a young child, I'd been able to overcome my issues with eye contact and a few other basic social cues. However, I have at least two problems that I actively face every now and then.
For one, my executive functioning skills. When it comes to simple things like ...

Hello all,

Hope you are all doing well. I have a question and would love to hear your opinion and advice.

Me (NT) and my boyfriend (aspi) were together for two years, we met when he was recently divorced. we had a rough pad, with him ignoring me multiple times and breaking up with me and afterwards coming back. A huge problem according to him was me not trusting him and pushing him. Recently, after ...

Is it AspieCentral or is it just me?

I know a common advice is to lurk before posting, but that is something I never do, I usually just come and post away, without reading anyone else's posts. So I am wondering could it be that my problem at AspieCentral is that I have wandered into some social clique without even knowing it, or do you think it is my own posts, as such, that are the sole reason?

I only started few threads ...

Your concept of other people

This is something I've been increasingly struggling with, so I thought I'd as here. I'm interested in how you think of other people. For example the fact that they think and feel, is it just än abstract concept that you acceptera or can you look at someone and just know that they can see you and are thinking about you too? Do you feel that you're surrounded by people like you, or dö people sometimes ...

Been referred for assessment at age of 39

I got a new psychiatrist recently and he's referred me for an ASD assessment and says he suspects Aspergers. My current diagnoses are bipolar and OCD, but he says he thinks that the bipolar is still a definite. In the past PD traits were mentioned, but have since been discounted.

Anyway, I'm a 39 year old woman and questioning whether I really could have Aspergers. The pdoc said that it's a lot harder to diagnose ...

Intelligence Discrimination i.e Nerd, Geek, etc.

Basically I am wondering if any of you feel the same way about a lot (not all) neurotypicals. I am often judged and harassed based on intelligence or even hobbies. Sometimes I wonder why they can't just let me be and let me pursue my own intellectually stimulating activities rather than their conformist ones. I don't live on this earth to conform and fit in. Quite frankly, I don't know exactly why I'm here in ...
