Getting a DX (and making friends)

I've been putting off going to the GP to try and figure out if I do infact have Aspergers, I feel very nervous about even going in to make an appointment, how to bring it up, and the questions they'll ask, of which I know (KNOW) my answer will be "Erm..." until I think of the way to give an answer hours later.

If I did manage to explain to them why I thought I ...

a propos Memory

Event completion: Event based inferences distort memory in a matter of seconds
Brent Strickland, , Frank Keil
Department of Psychology, Yale University, 2 Hillhouse Avenue, New Haven, CT 06520, United States
Received 21 May 2010. Revised 20 April 2011. Accepted 30 April 2011. Available online 12 September 2011.

We present novel evidence that implicit causal inferences distort memory for events only seconds after viewing. Adults watched videos of someone launching (or throwing) an object. However, ...

Stimmy? Catonia ? Aspergers...

Hello, I have a question about Aspergers syndrome. I was never professionally diagnosed with. The disorder, but im 98 percent sure I have it. I had a horrible time making friends until high school when some similar minded people started getting me out o my shell. I can't do eye contact but I can usually read Facial expressions well. I definitely can smile. I get obsessed with random stuff... right now I can't stop googling ...

I need distractions while I try to work...?

Specifically when I am trying to write (for leisure, not school work) I need the TV to be on for background noise while I try to work...But when it comes to other things, like writing important essays, if anybody so much as speaks a word to be I can go off on them.

When writing important essays I like to have the TV on, but on MUTE. I don't know why, but it helps me ...

Ugh. Not another party :/ ...

I absolutely hate parties, though my parents are taking me to one of their friends' parties on Saturday. Which will be strange because they already think I'm weird and rude because I don't speak. But what scares me the most is that there will LOADS of people there, a majority I won't even know. I tend to act bizzarly in these situations or end up making myself look like an idiot. On top of all ...

Accessing and applying knowledge.

Even if I know I understood something perfectly well, I still have trouble accessing this information on command and especially applying it to a situation, even less when the situation that applies to whatever I know about in theory is (slightly) different from the context in which I have originally learned about it.

I fail to see the similiarities, no matter how obvious (just like I generally fail to see the obvious). Every situation or ...

Stim objects

Does anyone here have a "stim object?" This being something that you stim on, like a light or gyroscope or... whatever. I have a Water Bouncer from Maui Toys, and I absolutely love the thing. It's basically a transparent silicone (or plastic?) ball, which is completely filled with water (no air bubbles at all) and glitter.

I keep in in my office at work. I like to toss it in the air so it ...
