A lack of "common sense"... ?

Is a lack of common sense an Aspie trait? ... I'm not professionally or self diagnosed aspie but I tend to have this problem and alot of other aspie behaviour. I lack everyday basic skills like being able to travel. For instance, I've been going to my Grandparent's house for 6 years and still can't make my own way because I can't remember. This is one of the reasons I don't go out, because it's ...

How did you find out you had AS

Hello

When did you first know you had AS, and when did you expect something was not "normal"?

Here goes mine. Apparently a few hours after birth, my mum thought something was wrong with me due to not bonding with people, ie, not breast feeding, not liking being touched, anyone standing above my cot, things went on and on, when I was older thing got worse and progressed.

The school I visited wanted me to ...

how do deal with people who are wrong

Hello

So basically I went to hospital today, where it was a physiotherapy appointment.

I was told to stand, put my knee back as far as it can go, then bring my knee forward slightly to the "biting point" or the neutral point nice and sturdy if someone kicks you in the back of the leg... like that was a great explanation.

I said thats not my neutral point, its here, and she said no, ...

Are you able to express pain levels?

I had to go to the hospital tonigh for some severe pain and found out I have a 13cm kidney stone that they have to do surgery to get out :-(

Anyway, when I went in, the first thing they asked in my pain levels, 1 being not so bad and 10 being the worst pain ever. I had no idea how to answer that and guessed ...

Asperger Syndrome at University - Need advice

I am not quite sure, how to write it, but I need your advice.

I am a student at university. I've just started to study Mathematics and Physics in this term. First at all I thought it would be better not to tell, that I have Asperger. But now I am not so sure anymore.
In two subjects I failed to get the permission to take the test at the end of the term, because ...

Rant!

I an a self-diagnoses aspie, read about it last year, and reading many (but not all) of the symptoms reads like my autobiography. Also, many of the threads here and on other forums I can totally relate to - most of us with it are pretty much in the same boat.

I have told family and a couple of friends about my discovery, and some of them don't understand why I think I have it. ...

Disappearing off for a while.

I don´t know who this is supposed to be directed at, there is no one left to read it on here it seems.

I have been what they call "triggered" on other sections of the board in the last couple days and feeling truly #######5 so I will disappear off and not log onto the board for a while until I feel more stable again. Emphasis on "for a while" though.

Feel still free to ...

GP appointment booked

For Friday, so some sort of script needed, mainly how exactly do I say:
"I think I have Asperger's."

Saying it like that doesn't seem the sort of thing you can blurt out and be taken seriously saying, without first explaining yourself, which I won't be able to do.

I was thinking of taking my Aspie quiz printout for when my mind goes blank, and explain to him that I don't think that automatically means ...

Adding a positive emotional response to a thought?

I´ve noticed that even when I am not depressed, I tend to only or foremostly see, more specifically feel, the negative aspects of things as soon as I start to think about them for too long.

Even though I know my worrying is mostly based on What Ifs, assumptions and worst case scenarios, I respond to whatever I am worrying about at the time as if it was true. I then try to calm myself ...
