News of Anxiety Disorders

I have had social anxiety now for 5 years. And it has gotten worse this past year. I could deal with it and fight it when I was on clonazapam or xanax. But all the other meds, paxil, zoloft, etc. dont work. It seems like everyone frowns down on benzos because they can become habit forming. What else can I do? I have tried everything else. Everyone tells me I need to just suck it ...

I am sorry to constantly post about my symptoms and stuff. But now I am having a weird swelling in myneck. I am stil lhaving some cramping but not as bad and numbness in my body. I apreciate all of you posting and responding. These sites are so great. I never knew how bad anxiety and stress could be. How does it effect your whole body???

does this mean I could have angoraphobia? I have a very strong desire to be alone.

Hello, I am a student actress (who does not suffer from agoraphobia), however I am in a scene for school, where the character I play is agoraphobic. I thought it would be beneficial for me to hear real victims' stories of how this phobia can be debilitating. I in no way, shape or form want to make anyone feel uncomfortable, nor am I here to exploit the issue of agoraphobia.

I am trying to finish my 4.5 years with my psychiatrist. After the sudden loss of my younger brother and death of my father i became very anxious and was treated for GAD. I was abused as a young child and that was also part of the treatment. I am ready to move on but i have a hard time letting go. I only see my psychiatrist once a month now to make the transition ...

First, I just want to say hello. I am new to this forum.

I am dealing with an anxiety issue in which I'm seeing a counselor plus a doctor who has me on Buspirone.

I moved to a new location last August after having lived in my previous community all my life. While this is not the cause of my anxiety it does seem to add more weight.
