Do I have anxiety?

So here's the thing: I don't know if I have anxiety issue or not. I'm not asking for a diagnosis or anything, I just want to hear what others have to say.
Here's what happens: If I'm in a high stress situation (i.e, finals), I'll freak out. It will be so hard to breathe that I'm practically hyperventilating. I'll get SUPER dizzy, feel really nauseous, and I'll be shaking really bad. Sometimes it's worse than ...

Really tense in stomach area

So for the past 6 months or so I noticed that my muscles are extremely tense in my stomach area. It looks like I'm sucking in my stomach but I'm not. When I force myself to relax the muscles, my muscles are sore and they tense back up again within minutes.

I thought I'd try out yoga to relax but breathing deeply hurts my stomach like I had pulled a muscle and it hadn't fully ...

I Stop existing

Hello folks, here is my thing:

I stop existing, at least i think I do, because obviously i have no one around with me i can think of a fulfilled life, meaning like i am stuffed with work, with people around, that keep me busy.

I think it is just normal, but i got to this critical point where i think i stop existing quite fast. Then, I know I have to do something, change ...

peppermint candy addiction caused by anxiety and grief

I know my subject sounds silly but it is really serious. I lost my favorite and closest uncle to AIDS/respiratory failure on Feb 9th of this year. At 4am on Feb 10th we found my mother passed away on her apartment floor. We originally thought it was a suicide but the coroner ruled her death accidental after tox screen came back. She actually died of cocaine toxicity. Needless to say it has been a very ...

Very anxious about my husband going camping

My husband wants to go camping overnight with his friend and the idea scares me a lot. There would be no service and no way of contacting him. When he was gone visiting home last month, I did really poorly and used about every skill under the sun. I struggled a lot with abandonment stuff. I know that I'd be really anxious and upset if he went camping. I also feel bad telling him I'm ...

I think I might need an SSRI but am nervous.

Hi there, I've been browsing and reading for a while but this is my first time posting...
(this might be a bit long)

Much to my relief, I realised a few years ago that there is actually term for me: highly-sensitive person (HSP). I'm also an empath. I have been this way all my life... very hyper-aware of everything going on around me, very sensitive to the energies of other people, etc. I think, because ...

Please help. My wife can't take any meds

Hi,

I'm not sure this is the place to post this kind of question...

My wife has suffered all her life from anxiety, but lately it's been getting out of control. She can't leave the house; she sleeps little and badly; and she's irrationally afraid of being ill. She actually eats close to nothing and checks on her body sensations all the time, always hoping for the worst - when she has migraine (she's had ...

Xanax The Medicine

I have suffered from anxiety and panic for 45 years. It started one year after I was sexually assaulted in the Navy. Summing up my E.R. visits and hospitalizations: Numerous.
I am disturbed that the only thing that has helped is Valium, Ativan or Xanax, and the abuse of them by others, is making doctors shy about prescribing them. These, which I consider medicines, not drugs, in my case, have throughout the years, slowed down ...

Anxious thoughts detriment to my relationship

I've been in a relationship with my boyfriend now for nearly 2 years (will be 2 years in July), I suffer with sometimes severe anxiety, that manifests itself as anxious thoughts, that can sometimes lead to self harming. I am currently at University in my second year which I really enjoy, though at times I find it stressful and the pressures of work, deadlines and often accompanied money worries can sometimes bring on attacks. Mostly ...
