I think I dislike psych for this additional reason: it encourages the view of multiple lifetimes. It heartlessly labels the patient as a dreadfully bad human being for his/her current lifetime; the patient's given name is thoroughly trashed ie. "history of mental illness": no worse condemnation than that is possible and it is tantamount to eternal damnation.
