Power of Attorney to avoid antipsychotic medication

Wow, it has been a long time since I have been on here. I have graduated from college and got a job in I.T. and have been working full time ever since, and my life has been really quite good overall. I still have the same partner which I live with, and my relationship with my parents is quite good. I have not been arrested in years, and I have not seen any mental health ...

Bisexual Put In ConversionTherapy By Psychiatrist Found Dead

In May 2020, Anjana Harish, a 22-year-old bisexual student, died by suicide in Goa. Before she took her life, she had put out a video on Facebook describing how she had been placed in solitary confinement in a mental facility by her family and subjected to ‘conversion therapy’. The constant physical and mental abuse led her to take the extreme step, she said.

In her facebook video she said:
"Hi, I am Anjana Harish.
You ...

question about meds.

I just joined here because I have a question about a medicine that treats anti-psychotic medicine side effects. It is called Cogentin (benztropine), that's the only meds that the doctor would give me for my debilitating damage that the anti-psychotic had done to me. Somehow no matter how long I keep taking Cogentin the side effects of it (benztropine) will not go away. To say the least what is effecting me most is it gives ...

Mental Health makes an easy way out

for doctors who do not know or care to research further to tell patients everything is in their head.

I honestly believe that more research should be done before declaring mental illness because it can be a symptom of a larger problem.

I have no idea why a good chunk of doctors feel that it's easier to believe someone is making sick in their head (without testing) than actually being sick.

It feels like arrogance ...

Psychiatry Ideals

First off as a disclaimer in case this is somehow triggering to anyone, I'm completely open to criticism if you think I'm missing some point, feel free to let me know if you think I did.

I know this forum isn't that active but from the threads I've read on the front page anyway it pretty much seems like the people that are here think that everything to do with psychiatry is always wrong no ...

How to Get off an Injection?

Hey guys,

Does anyone know what to do if you're on an injection of a drug rather than pills, and want to wean/get off? I have to go to the clinic every several weeks, for my injection. My doctor has stretched the time period out one week after my request to be on less medication, so technically I am on a bit less now. The injection was every 4 weeks, now it's every 5. The ...

Think I'm Starting to Heal

I am still on antipsychotic medication. Having said that I am trying to heal myself in all the ways I can, while being 24/7 on a substance that, to my definition, makes total and complete healing impossible. I don't really know what to say here, as this is my first post and I am new to the antipsych movement although it resonates with me, and has for a long time. I think the trauma that ...

Psych drugs for depression have no long term benefits

There are zero scientific studies showing any psych drug used for depression has any long term benefit. Zero. These drugs are claimed to “work” by cherry picking published short term corporate studies. These studies operate by putting the placebo group in withdrawal, unblinking the drug group, cherry picking and using statistical techniques. Even then the most pro-drug biased studies find that in the short term 1 in 7 people taking them will receive a 2 ...

Game changer: Linden Cameron shot by police

"He was experiencing a crisis because it was her first day back at work in almost a year and "he has bad separation anxiety", she said.

"I said, he's unarmed, he doesn't have anything, he just gets mad and he starts yelling and screaming," Ms Barton said. "He's a kid, he's trying to get attention, he doesn't know how to regulate."

"At a press conference, Sgt Horrocks said officers were called to a "violent psych ...
