Exposure therapy for panic disorder w/ agoraphobia

My mother suggested that I go to an intensive outpatient program for my agoraphobia but after thinking about it for a while I feel it might just be to much for me. Just having to go to the program would be hard enough but then I have to go through exposure therapy which I understand involves having panic attacks and not using coping skills to stop them. It really seems like that's the kind of ...

Agoraphobia riding the buss

I've experienced two severe panic attack episodes while taking the buss.
Now after that, no matter how aware I am that the buss is completely harmless, I can no longer take it.
There is such a strong fear associated with taking the buss now that getting on it makes me sick and trigger attacks to left and right.

What can I do to get over this completely nonsense fear?

I've tried exposure, but every attempt ...

Every 'event' in life makes me sick

Hello

I'm not really sure in which category to post, it could be a agoraphobia, or social anxiety..
Basically, a lot of things that happen in my life just make me nauseous. This is a feeling that can remain with me for days, or even months.

It first started when I had a girlfriend: we were a happy couple, never had any problems, shared the same opinions about most things, we were a good fit. ...

Is it a Panic Attack or Heart Attack?

I hope everyone is still hanging in there! Remember anxiety attacks are just temporary. Nothing more than over the top adrenaline rushes in which you play a silly mind trick on yourself and convince yourself that something terrible is going to happen. That's it! They do go away, and you can certainly live a wonderful, happy life after overcoming panic attacks and agoraphobia, just hang in there!

Also, I'd like to say that just to ...

Stopping Panic Attacks Can Come Much Quicker Than You Think

One second of a panic attack can feel like an eternity and the hardest part of any recovery is the beginning when progress is measured in inches not miles. But regardless of how tough it is, it is very possible to recover from. You can overcome your panic attacks and agoraphobia, it just takes time and the right mental attitude, but a life free of panic ...

Agoraphobic job opportunities???

I was just wondering if anyone here has been totally successful in finding/ managing some sort of at home or online job.
I worked for a while and did pretty well but found that I seemed to take that to the extreme and made myself worse for a time in the process. I really want to feel some sort of accomplishment and like I am being productive. I just am not sure how or where ...

Going Back To Work After Agoraphobia

Since I started blogging about my panic experiences and how I overcame them, one of the things I get asked about most is whether or not I had to take meds. And the answer is yes, for a while I did. But regardless of whether you have to take them for a while, just know that curing panic attacks and agoraphobia is all in you. You're 100% capable of doing it. I know it's difficult, ...

Going Back To Work After Agoraphobia

This isn't so much about overcoming panic, as it is about how awesome life is after. You feel bulletproof! Hope and a positive attitude are critically important to curing panic attacks and agoraphobia once and for all. Sometimes people really focus too much on the day to day struggle and forget to put a little attention on where they'd like to be, so I thought I'd remind you. Once again, in case this is the ...
