Has the internet improve your social skills?

The internets have taught me that their is humor in all things. So it helped transform me into a complete asshole. My dad gave me a long speech the other day on why I shouldn't laugh at kids with cancer. Like it matters if you hurt the feelings of someone whose gonna die in a few days am i rite?

Should I Be on the lookout?

Hello, Im new to this forum so please bear with me.

My husband has this friend whos wife Im most certain suffers from HPD. She is manipulative, has told blatant lies about those closest to her, pushes up her tiny breasts to riduclous heights and always wears (and sometimes shows off) thong underwear...but I could go on.

My thing is earlier last summer when his friend first started dating her, (yes they are married already ...

Antipsychotics / Neuroleptics For Mental Disorders - Comments

In terms of antipsychotics / neuroleptics meant for the treatments of mental disorders , clinical evidences actually indicate that those troubled with mental disorders, especially the serious ones, shouldn't just rely solely upon the medications as the one and only means of solution to their mental problems.

To put it bluntly, such medications, they are no different from sleeping pills whereby their calming effects just 'come and ...

Having an aha! moment

I, unlike a lot of posters on this forum, am not part of a couple who has had to deal with HPD. But nonetheless it still affects me and I still seek answers and insights about this disorder.

The person who I believe has HPD has, in the past, called me jealous, called me insane, called me obsessed (with her). All of those things are untrue, I know they are, my family and friends know ...

Empathy, or lack thereof

I am confused about the concept of empathy. Can one use the term "empathy" when discussing the ability to intellectually understand the emotions of another? When relating to people, I don't feel anything emotionally, but I can easily grasp the concept of their emotional state.

Suppose a person shares that they've been diagnosed with cancer. I can understand, intellectually, how they probably feel, but I have never conjured those emotions in a simulated form. Similarly, ...

I hate you, go away...I'm so lonely without you.

Is not how I should be treating my wife, but during these times, I can't seem to snap out of it.

I'm new here.. figured I could find a group to talk with and not necessarily find any cures or answers, because after being diagnosed nearly 15 years ago, I've been through enough hospitals, meds and manic episodes to know I'm just a rat in an evergrowing cage.

Current meds include zoloft, xanax er and ...

Pretending to be sick or in pain
