Do You Agree this is OCD?

I made a thread about the possibility of having Pure-O. I discussed it with my therapist & he easily shot me down. Rebuking my theory with the fact that I do compulsions.

I just want to know what you guys think because my experience is not typically OCD. I'm not a germaphobe, I'm not obsessed with cleanliness or anything like that. Here are some of "main" ...

Seeking an AS role model

Hey guys,

You will most likely find this post strange. I am looking for an aspie role model whose achievements aren't highly academic (eg/ Bill Gates, Albert Einstein), but rather demonstrate incredible social skills. For example, someone with Asperger's who went from being a completely awkward loner to becoming a motivational speaker. The best example I've found so far is Al Gore: people claim he has AS, and yet he's a politician who speaks well ...

Came here because I don't know what to do.

Hi all,
I came here because I really don't know what to do. I live in a broken home. An unorthodox broken home. My mother died 6 years ago and my father has cancer now. I am the youngest of 3 siblings and my brother and sister are totally unsupported of my lifestyle because it seems they are convinced that I should perceive the world the same way they do.

I have been pretty successful ...

Hello all! Brand new to Forum...

Hi there,

I am new here....I am a 28 year old female who was recently diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. I was also diagnosed with OCD when I was 23. I still have a few OCD tendencies but have definitely come a loooooong way. I have an amazing OCD therapist and I worked hard with CBT. OCD definitely doesn't consume my whole life anymore.

I have always had extreme ups and downs, but was never diagnosed ...

Underrated

I believe that Seasonal Affective Disorder is slightly underrated & the power of the mood swings are underestimated. Over the past two, I've had three major depressive episodes which occurred in the extreme winter months. November/December/Jan in 2009: I turned suicidal & was put on medication for the first time. By the time the summer came around, I was feeling much better. Speed up to the winter of 2010: I attempted suicide, & the major ...

Talked to her and am TOO confsed now

Okay, so yesterday I went to this academic event where I met my ex-academic advisor. For those of you just tuning in, I am talking about a professor who would no longer work with me after I kind of became clingy, tried to befriend her, wrote her about my suicidal thoughts and such.

So to the event I went, saw her coming in, waved (yes, weird, bit it sort of just happened), she nodded at ...

Why no victims????

PEOPLE
Image
Y U NO GIVE US VICTIM STORIES???!!!????

If you go to all the other boards (NPD/BPD/HPD), it's choke full with long walls of juicy wailing victim-posts. Heck, even the schizoids get a lot more victims than we do! (Mindy doesn't count, she's much too nice, normal, rational & strong-in-the-head person to be properly 'victimized')

Why is it so??? ...

Asperger's Realtionship Difficulties

Hello, I don't know whether this is an issue which differentiates between "Aspies" or if it's an issue that is very seldom. Irregardless of your sexuality, age and which type of relationship you desire, does anyone else have exceptional difficulties with truly bonding with a girl or boy? Depending on your sexuality,of course. I'm heterosexual and have profound difficulty speaking to girls. I'm one of the only people in my school year(Comprising of approximately 300 ...

Manic Or Insomnia?

I'm bipolar and go through manic episodes, so it's hard to tell whats really going on. It could be the switch in meds, it could be an episode, it could be the start of insomnia. I was sleeping quite well until we switched my medication from day to night and now at this point I could only sleep while talking xanax or amiben, but I could sleep. I'm on topamax, pristiq, metformin, and invega. Now ...
