"But you seem fine..."

Has anyone ever heard that line before from friends etc?

"But you seem fine..."

I am not working at the moment because I have been struggling too much with my DID, triggers, memory loss, flashbacks, body memories, depression etc...

I had a friend come and visit me the other day and he was asking me why I wasn't working and what I was doing instead... To be honest, I'm not really too sure how I've ...

I thought I'd give this a try.

Now, I never wanted to talk about this much because I know how much it is looked down upon. But lately I've been feeling like it might be accepted well. I brought it up in another thread, I'm going to quote it so I don't have to write it up again.

Eye Contact

Does anyone else have trouble making or maintaining eye contact with other people? I struggle to do it for even just a few seconds.

I recently got told buy someone that if the person they are talking to cant make eye contact with them then they arent a very trusting person. Its like they have something to hide.

My problem with it is it seems akward or very personal to stare into someones eyes. If ...

Do emotional/soulical people give you a headache?

I just realized that my office mate causes my head to hurt with her emotional demands. It is not like she says anything but she kind of invisibly reaches out pummels my head if we are in the office alone together. If there is someone else in the room it is not as bad as the other person can engage her. They other day my head stopped hurting when someone came in the office and ...

Does this sound like BPD?

I have been being told for years that I have it, but for a long time, my therapist disagreed with the doctors. Well, I have never been in a real relationship (I am 23). But I want to give an example of what happened between me and a girl I like. I liked her, so I texted her that I wanted her to stop coming around because I wanted to be anorexic again, and I ...

Moving Dx'd family into your home

My apologies if this is the wrong place to post this. My brother is Dx'd with schizoaffective disorder. He crashed and burned twice requiring hospitalization and has been living on his own for a while now. He, however is starting to decline again and although he hasn't needed hospitalization, he has had 3 episodes in less than 6 months leaving home and running back to our parents's home convinced people wanted him dead. He can't ...

Car Cranking/Stalling obsession. Anxiety. Help.

This is one where I am not sure if its a fetish or otherwise. I have no response to the physical car itself, although I do certainly respond to characteristics of the car. It has to be old, etc.

Basically the sound of a car attempting to start but failing is the main thing that gets me off. Ill imagine young pretty girls being in the drivers seat, but if the car is old enough, ...

Narcissistic defences revisited. LOL

I thought i got rid of them all just like that.

i thought i wasn't "a narcissist" (i dont have NPD cause i do have internal self-esteem and don't need "supply.").

but that does NOT mean i had got all my narcissistic traits/defences just like that in one foul swoop. lol.

people have misinterpreted a lot of my wants/needs through NPD lenses before for some reason, probably cause they did see narcissism there, - cause ...
