Intelligence?

The topic of intelligence came up in page 4 of the following thread: http://www.psychforums.com/asperger-syndrome/topic68315.html One theory by a fellow member is intelligence can be determined by the speed of thought; the problem is it raises several pertinent questions... So, can ones intelligence be determined by how fast they can process information?

Death came, but we are alive.

Years ago the beauty and tranquility of Earth ended.
Our egos grew and the Earth became bare,
while our people died we were wrapped tightly and consumed by their own drama.
The simple and happy days are away until people open their eyes.
When the darkness of death knocked it was let in,
by the carelessness of others.
The world is ending, we are to blame.
Open the door to light and save us.
Please ...

A Dear Abby Letter:

I'm not sure how much of this I can reprint, but today there was a letter in 'Dear Abby' from an aunt who said her 12-year-old niece suffered fron extreme shyness. When she'd visit the girl she would hide in her parent's bedroom behind a closed door, not coming out to say 'hi,' nor would she be willing to speak to her on the phone when she called. I was actually like this as a ...

Is purging freehand a death sentence?

I was reading an article about freehand being a death sentence. I mean I somehow agree because most people that purge freehand have had an eating disorder awhile so there body is wearing down, and their gag reflex is triggered by tiny things. I have been purging freehand almost 8 months now and it is horrible because since I first did it I bp way more. I have been bulimic somewhere between 2-3 years I ...

GAD and depression affecting relationship

I suffer from General Anxiety Disorder and lately I have been thinking I could have depression too. I married my long term boyfriend in May and we moved into our own place the beginning of July. In the last month I have felt like I am slipping deeper and deeper into depression. Being a newlywed in a new home is supposed to be a happy time but I am up to my old tricks of ...

Wife is more upset that I was diagnosed than I am

Sorry for the book, I edited the crap out of it so it wasn't much of a ramble.

I was diagnosed with Asperger's, 2 days ago. When I told my wife (married 5 years) and showed her what the symptoms were she agreed and said it made a lot of sense. She saus I have been detached for a while now and I never noticed or felt any different.

I always tell her I love ...

World cup: US v. Japan

Who do you like for this game?

I figure, the US has a size and strength advantage, but Japan is a very technically proficient team which has beat teams no one expected them to. The US has a ton of spirit though, and plays well with their backs against the wall.

I'm thinking the US has the advantage, but not by a lot.

cruel indifference?

About three weeks ago my mother passed away but I have yet to feel a thing about about it. No sadness, no sorrow, no pity, no guilt, no remorse, no sentiment whatsoever.

I am a single child. My parents divorced when I was two and my father, who I never saw after the divorce, died a few years later. My mother chose to rear me herself since she never remarried or once entered into a ...

I rather be abused again

I'm 26 male, and I have to say that I don't like being this age, these are the worst years of my life, no friends, no social life, no motivation or direction in life, plus I considered this age to be too old for me. I feel more like I'm 16. I wouldn't mind being 16 again or even 12. It's so bad now that I would rather go back to the age of when ...
