Hi, i have been wondering lately if i have a mild form of narcolepsy, if there even is different degrees of it.
I was recently at my neurologist (i have epilepsy), and i mentioned that i sometimes experience sleep paralysis and have hallucinations at the same time, and if it could be related to my epilepsy. He told me it was usually symptoms of narcolepsy and not connected with epilepsy, but since it doesnt really happen often and doesnt really bother me, we didnt talk more about it.
But now i started thinking i might have narcolepsy, because i have always had a problem with getting tired when i am at lectures and meetings, i start yawning really fast, within 10-15 minutes, usually i start drawing because then the tiredness goes away, because my brain is active. If i dont start doing something like drawing, and just try to keep listening, then i get even more tired, and start to get something like shocks where i almost black out(everything goes black for a milisecond and then i "wake up" again, but still tired), it feels like the thing when you are trying to fall asleep at night, and just before you really sleep, you wake up and the whole body jerks. I have never let it go beyond the short shocks/blackouts, at that point i always start drawing or get up and go to the toilet just to be a little active, because i fear i will fall asleep.
Does this in any way sound like narcolepsy? or is it something else?
(sorry if my english isnt perfect, its not my native language)
