Charlie Sheen

Postby asphyx » Wed Mar 02, 2011 6:45 am

After all his recent ramblings he seems like a NPD to me.

I heard that some psychologist said that he was in psychosis, which explains all his recent quotes. I think think he's just a narcissist.

Some of his comments are extremely narcissistic... “I’m tired of pretending I’m not special. I’m tired of pretending I’m not a total bitchin’ rock star from Mars.”

Besides all his highly arrogant comments and self-aggrandizement he did say some funny as fvck things:

“I am on a drug – it’s called Charlie Sheen. It’s not available because if you try it, you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body.”

LOL :D

What do you guys think?

I think you're an idiot.

Charlie has a long history with alcoholism and drug addiction and its clear that its spiraling out of control. So, he's loosing his mind and nothing more.

^^^^You heard it here first: Cocaine, alcohol , rage and making and idiot out of oneself mean that narcissism can’t be a factor.

In all seriousness, if you actually listen to his VOICE, it sounds like he is on a 43 minute rage.
Listen how many times he talks about violence towards people.

In addition, this whole interview is a 43 minute supply binge for Charlie Sheen. And just listen to how stupidly he eats it up. He gets 1000 compliments and never gives one back.

The only compliment he ever gives is; “I love you”, in response to compliments. –What does that remind you of?

Oh, and his rage wound up costing him dearly after the fact.---what does that remind you of?

No way he could be a narc……

In order of the interview....

I thought the same thing..narcissist. I also heard bi polar used. I go with that as well. In the interview last night, he was asked what he felt his children thought of him, and he said he figured they thought he was a "wonderful person and father" or something like that. You have GOT to be kidding me? He definatly thrives on the attention. But the sad thing is, I am a Social Worker by profession, and find it hard to empathize with him. Doe that make me a terribly judgemental person??

I love Charlie Sheen, if that adds anything to the diagnosis. :D

But he's clearly bats, sure.

I heard that some psychologist said that he was in psychosis, which explains all his recent quotes. I think think he's just a narcissist.

"Just" a narcissist, huh? A personality disorder is just as much a mental illness as psychosis.

I actually personally lean more towards a bipolar Dx with him, though. What you're calling "rage" seems more like "mania" to me. The mood swings can seem similar (as opposed to say BPD, where the "swings" are spontaneous and close together, I mean).

I've heard that NPD persons are often diagnosed with hypomania, though. (I probably qualify, myself.)
  • Just because I'm crazy doesn't mean I'm wrong.
  • Please feel free to request citations/sources.
  • Here's my Dx.
  • I really like making lists.

He's definitely a narcissist. Whether or not he suffers from the mental illness NPD is debatable.

The reason its debatable is because there is good cause to suspect that its either drug induced mania or actual true mania from being Bipolar.

I noticed in that part of the interview that he didn't out-right deny being Bipolar. It makes me think maybe a doctor gave him this diagnosis before.

The guy is obviously out of balance.
Personally, I'm not trained in making diagnosese.
But I do feel fortunate to be amongst so many of you who are.

I don't think it matters - we don't have to live with him, right?

I think the whole celebrity thing & NPD (or unreasonable behaviour) is interesting. How many of us could hold onto our values in their mad world?

Are they crazy because they are celebrities or are they celebrities because they are crazy?

There are quite a few A list stars who manage to avoid the tabloids. Most Z lusters make it into a magazine every week...

Who wants to be famous?

Also, don't have TV so haven't seen anything recent of his but I loved this quote a few weeks ago:

Egypt is burning, and you w?nkers are obsessing about what I did last night?

Brilliant!
