Career Questions

Hi,
I'm 22 years old and I was wondering if there were any older guys here that could offer me some insights. Precisely regarding career paths. What do you do for a living? Do you enjoy it? What would you do if have total freedom and why?

I'm an Economics graduate and I'm stuck in rut because I keep searching for the perfect career path that will guarantee me success. Leading to analysis paralysis. I recently did a strategy consulting internship and hated it since it was a desk job. But above all, i'm just searching for success and can't stand the thought of failure and being 'normal'. I want glory and unlimited success. I don't want to waste my energy on a career that doesn't ultimately lead to that.

Essentially , we all want narcissistic supply right? After all, it's our addiction. So you need human attention for that. A career in the public eye is surely what we all seek then. Actors/Politicians/Musicians. Ultimately - an audience. Ask yourself, would you still want your dream career if you got no recognition for it from others? I guess I'm asking are we just seeking praise and admiration or have you guys ever found something you love?

It doesnt have to be a public eye career like musician, politician. If there is anything your good at, you can fullfil your need for respect and admiration by a small circle of coworkers turning to you for help. Like academic circles. Or any supervisor type job realy, where people will have to respect you by default. Is there anything the narcissist me loved? Seeking answers to the questions of the universe. And Philosphy, history, music.
