Knox's comments on another thread got me thinking about this.....
I've done a lot of ill-advised things in my life, but I rarely put myself in harm's way.
Maybe this is a key difference between NPD and ASPD.
Are you reckless? In what ways?

I can sometimes push the limits but I won’t risk getting thrown in jail. At least not at my age.

Do you put yourself in danger of physical harm?

No, not anymore.

I do high risk activities when there is an X factor that can be controlled and I’m confident in my ability to control it. I imagine that’s true for many people.

I think the most "reckless" thing I've done is jump out of an airplane. But, that really appears more reckless than it is. It definitely got my adrenaline pumping, though.

I’ve had ALOT of physical fights over my life all when I was younger and I didn’t really start any of them.

Street racing while drunk and high was pretty reckless too. I just thought I was invincible basically. Just assumed everything would work out somehow and it usually did. Now I can’t believe I got away with half the stuff I did.

That feeling of invincibility when you're in your teens is pretty common. You didn't say how old you were when you felt like that so I'm making an assumption. There's neuroscience that backs it up, too. Teens brains are wired for risk-taking behavior.
I did stuff as a teen that put me at risk of getting arrested (actually did get arrested once), but not things that would get me killed. Well, actually, that's not entirely true. My boyfriend had car and we would go out drinking. He'd be totally smashed trying to stay in his lane when he drove me home. Probably should be dead, come to think of it.

There are things that put you at risk and things that put you at risk. Binge drinking, drug use, driving under the influence, using a fork to dislodge a stuck toaster etc

I don't indulge in reckless behavior since adulthood. I did when I was a kid, but that was a way of acting out my pain.
What I do indulge in is calculated risks. I enjoy those. Risks feel good to me.
I rarely act without thinking at least somewhat of the possible outcomes or consequences.
