I missed this earlier. What is this, speed/black metal? I had a phase in high school where I went through different metal sub-genres but I quickly concluded I need my music to be more melodic, with accent on lyrics, I rarely listen to even rock nowadays. :feeling old:
I wonder if one can make any connection between a PD and a musical genre, I see a difference on this topic between pwPD and codependents/nons?, I think the latter tend to identify with more emotional/sadder/self-pitying songs. I do however share the dark-and-twisted-sadness kind of taste in music with my ex, but some of the shoegazy things I like he finds "gay" (I'd also describe a certain part of my personality as "shoegazy" lol).
Shoegazy is not in the dictionary o_O
Defined by highly distorted guitars, and vocals, usually high-and-breathless or low in the mix, sometimes absent.
A psychedelic style, but not "trippy" psychedelic, more a dreamy, distant feel.
Pioneeered by My Bloody Valentine, but few bands actually sound like them anymore.
Loud guitars and quiet vocals is a usual dynamic.

I can remember fantastical shows in bars and fests even, truly staring at my shoes manipulating my multitude of pedals for a while, yet having an aggressive and foreboding stage presence. It too had some odd jazz and punk aspects, I'd like to play with those boys again although they all have drifted, fools they are, but good music men. Playing music brings a good quality attention towards one, if they play well and look very interesting. I like when people look at me, and oh the applause and grand comments at night time funs...
