There seems to be some concern about whether or not a moderator is a non or not. What you think a moderator should do, who is assigned to this forum?
Also, how do we know if someone is a non or not? Do we take them at their word? Do they have to be diagnosed? How do we know they are diagnosed?
Hi, Otter. I definitely think the new mod should be N, but since so few here have an actual diagnosis, we might have to take them at their word that they're N. If they say they have a dx, we have to take them at their word since we can't exactly ask them for psychiatric papers to prove it.
That being said,
Stillface (who has already been mentioned) does have an actual dx, besides being the perfect candidate for the job. If you'd like, I will email her and mention several people have mentioned her as a great potential mod. She isn't here much so she might refuse but I think it's worth a try, don't you?
I don't know lolidk, but she doesn't post here much at all, and personally I don't think a person who spends most of their time in the AsPD forum or has AsPD or AsPD traits would be such a great idea. I think sensitivity might be lacking (even if they might have more "common sense"). Again, I don't know this person or know how others feel about that. Maybe she's not AsPD and just likes that forum.
I think whoever is chosen should be chosen by the Ns, not the nons. I think the person should:
1. be in therapy or have been in therapy (it makes no difference if they're "healed" or not--most likely they would not be but at least they're working toward it)
2. ideally, have a diagnosis (that may not be possible though since so few here do)
3. have some degree of empathy (it's entirely possible for an N to have that or at least a modicum of it)
4. sensitivity to other Ns and an understanding of our problems.
5. sensitivity to nons also.
6. like helping and welcoming new people to the forum
7. be tough minded enough to issue discipline or warnings when necessary
8. be mature and stay out of high school drama (not that we have much here!)
Once again, i think Stillface fits all these criteria. I'll email her.
Otters are my second favorite animal, btw.
One other thing I'd like to mention--I think this forum should have the big pink label the AsPD and HpD forums do. I wonder why this one and the BPD forum do not.
