I always said that we needed a separate forum for Covert Narcissism. I think we've got it by default! :)

Seriously, do you want to do it? I'd nominate you.

I wouldn't do it at my stage because, 1) it would go to my head, 2) I don't like authority figures, and 3) the "role" would influence my freedom of expression.

For example, I wouldn't have replied to @MeAgain's post (where it seemed like he was projecting). My comment would have sounded different. I wouldn't want to lose that more genuine existence.

I think everyone can be a moderator just by pushing the "report" button. I don't see why this topic has to keep coming up. There's nothing to fix. Mother Superior is just a mouse-click away.

BTW: This sticky in the Members Corner discusses how the Cardinals look for white smoke.

Oh, God I can't stop laughing. I like your personality a lot.

How about you slap me, throw me on the floor and kick me like you did that date?! Sounds like a lot of fun, however, I do insist I return the favour after words with a couple of good ol' punches in the stomach and the face, I promise to be gentle with the face, will be careful not to break your nose. Perhaps tie you up a bit?! I just want to see some blood. It will make the sex so much better. Quite erotic don't you think?

I actually think Akuma would make a good mod as well, he is clever and he is going to therapy !

This forum had a tradition of having very grounded people with an intellectual and/or spiritual side, people who were at an advanced stage of their recovery, Akuma could be headed that way. I think it is important to keep the tradition going.

Would you try to keep it that way lolidk? Cause frankly the aspd forum is fun, but I like the npd forum the way it is. I am sure you would be a fantastic mod for aspd but can you be a great mod as well in here?

If the staff wants to why not, but its their decision.

I've modded on some other forum a while ago and my experience was that this changed self-perception vanishes rather quickly. The projections and expectations by members took longer back then, but the forum was a chaotic hellhole compared to here. I actually got emails by people with complaints even a year after I was no longer on the forum.

Oh ok thx. Wonder how I found that originally, didnt look there.

I believe we are short two mods now, are we not? :

The aspd forum is definitely fun, but this forum has its own perks. There are more intellectual based discussions here, and it's a good place to get serious about discussing NPD whether someone's need for doing so stems from a desire to gain a deeper understanding of oneself or from a desire to recover, or both. I'd say I'm more than qualified to moderate a place of such nature.

Thanks for your answer lolidk.

The thing with narcbolan and masquerade is that they both gained some wisdom and empathy through their commitment to therapy. And I think that's why threads were at their best when they were mods. They are a lot of things that can go wrong in here, non bashing, bpd bashing, N bashing happened in the past as well.

NPD in real life is almost becoming a synonym for "bad person". And it might actually get worse in the very next years. Because how superficial information is on the topic. Whether or not somebody chooses the path of recovery is none of my business, but a lot of people end up in here because they are miserable and I think it would be nice for them to have an alternative to what sometimes appears as a death sentence. So the only thing that seems truly paramount to me is to keep the dialogue open like in the past. It draws people in, every types of people. Sure, things can get out of hand sometimes, but it can be constructive as well.

This forum is a great education tool, where you can learn about aspects of narcissism that the public opinion could not care less about. So it would be nice, in the absence of guys like masquerade or narcbolan, to have a mod who is a non-NPDer as well (as Truth advocated for in a previous thread), in order to balance things out and in the spirit of showcasing that stigmatization is not the only way.
