Another one! Eddie Izzard. Played an extreme N in Hannibal. The connection didn't register obviously.

Just saw a re-run of the TV series Emergency, season 5 episode 22 "The Nuisance." A temporary paramedic appears in this episode. He's very narcissistic. Rigid, by the book, "my goal is to be the best Paramedic." And then thanks the other paramedic for agreeing without any actual agreement. Very arrogant and unaware of how it negatively affects patients/victims he serves in emergencies.

I couldn't find a copy online. But, thought I'd add this reference in case anyone could use it.

EDIT: It may be episode 24. Wikipedia's list of episodes says it's 22. But, IMDB says 24. But, it's called "The Nuisance." Both sites name it that way.

Until, I would guess, the early Victorian era, everyone was a pathological N. Life was harder then and you would have needed a big ego just to survive everyday life. The Victorian era was replaced by the Age of Entitlement in the Swinging Sixties. The pendulum always swings back!

The meek and Mild Narcissists at play. The meek shall inherit the Earth! It's all about the survival of the fittest, boys and girls! I've read some of Heinlein's early novels. I need to be less of an obsessive compulsive and jump to his later ones. Heinlein offered a solution to pathological personality with his suggestion of licensed parenthood.

No narcissistic perfectionists in the World, no visionary novelists; or vacations in Rome!

The motto of the Fragile Narcissist is "never do for yourself that which you can beguile others to do for you". If he's a counter dependent type it is also "order, harmony and symmetry in all things " and two fingers up to the World. If she's a codependent type, it's likely to be "peace and love" and two fingers to the World. No Empaths in the World, no social workers and primary school teachers! Are you starting to see the big picture yet?

SV again.

Narcissism is culturally defined.

http://youtu.be/fxEweP2TiMk

Part of my Dad's family emigrated to South Africa in 1969. They'd have felt right at home there. High narcissism on my Dad's side of the family and benign narcissism on Mum's. Mum insists that we all watched the first Moon landing on TV in July 1969. I can't remember it. And since it was 4am UK time, I was probably tucked up in bed anyway!
