My favorite: The English Beat, Mirror In The Bathroom (with lyrics):

I never seen you looking so bad my funky one / You tell me that your superfine mind has come undone (Steely Dan, Any Major Dude)

Nine Inch Nails' 1994 album Spiral is like a chronology of NPD. You can read the track-by-track summary here. (Odd trivia: The album was recorded in the home where Charlie Manson's followers murdered Sharon Tate in 1969.).

TRIGGER: It ends with the song Hurt which sounds like an N who has lost all supply. It reminds me of how I felt when I got to that point.

(Some versions have the long, noisy ending described in the summary above. I picked a different version because that ending could be even more of a trigger. It makes me think of a self-inflicted gun shot.).

Like Jason King, over the years I've learnt to take criticism. So I'm open to opinions on the above. JK was born on Christmas Day and projected his fantasy self into crime novels. If you know any A Type or mild/moderate N British men called Jason who are in their early to mid forties; he's the reason they're called Jason.

Thanks for explaining. I agree with you that there seem to be different flavors of both NPD and BPD. I had a very hard time getting a proper diagnosis at first because I have not made a bunch of suicide attempts and I tend to channel my rage inwards much more often than outwards. It is amazing in an unfortunate way how much stereotyping goes on even in the professional psychology realm.

Also thanks everyone for adding more songs! I love expression through music and I always love getting new songs to listen to and consider their lyrics and such. Good stuff.

Cock up on the cut and paste front. Ignore the Jackie Trent video. This is who was meant.

solstice, someone who I think might have had some narcissistic traits used to compare himself to the Beatles 'nowhere man'. I've never fully read the lyrics before; I wonder if he did? It was a bit of a surprise to click on that.

Bitty - John Lennon and Yoko Ono were almost certainly a co-dependent couple, based on what I've read about Lennon. An arrogant misanthrope! Mark Chapman (his killer) idolised him. Had a breakdown and devalued Lennon permanently! One guess as to Chapman's favourite novel.

Liam Gallagher models himself on Lennon. He even named his son by, FN Patsy Kensit, Lennon. Patsy has worked her way through four ExN and HFN husbands. I watched her on CBB this year. She was in full empath mode. She's got more personas than me! She even had a perfectionistic rage on the show and came close to (quite rightly) punching Ken Morley. Gorgeous woman though. She's definitely got that allure that appeals to the male ego!
